Rep. Patrick Kennedy Banned From Receiving Communion By Bishop Thomas Tobin

Rep. Patrick Kennedy Banned From Receiving Communion By Bishop Thomas Tobin

Commented Nov 22, 2009 at 12:35:46 in Politics

“This Nation has a Constitution that guarantees separation of Church and State. The actions of the Hypocrite Catholic Church to blur that right by forcing our elected officials to either do as they say or get out, is totally unconstitutional. The first thing that our Congress should do is to reverse the Law that "W" pushed for which gives these hypocrites tax payer money to support their charities as they see fit. Of course any Charity that does not follow their doctrine is not afforded any of that money or help. This too is unlawful, yet they are allowed to continue unfettered. Stop giving these corruptors our tax money.
They have no problem protecting their Child Molesting Priests by transferring them to other churches to continue their predatory practices, and destroy even more families or send them off to the Vatican where they are living in asylum in order to avoid our Justice System.
History has shown that the Catholic Church is one of the biggest propagators of war, and ideological persecution. A despicable part of our society that prefers persecution over forgiveness. That is Unholy”

JohnnyKay replied on Nov 22, 2009 at 13:00:56

“It doesn't, really.

It simply states that "Congress shall make no laws regarding an establishment of religion". Of course, that doesn't preclude state's legislatures from enacting laws, nor does it prevent any one of us from speaking out against this hypocrisy laden institution created to keep Constantine's empire afloat a little longer.

This church should have died with the emperors. It's time is short as it is. Much shorter than many realize, which is why the Vatican is looking to the stars for further confirmation.”

Fact, (which AP MISSED): She spent far, far less of state tax money on travel than the last 2 governors, in spite of having a much larger family.

But, if that type of "lie" is enough for you to dismiss her as a liar, Okey Dokey.

I think commonsense says that's nonsense.”

Bill Clinton Blasts Olbermann For Politicizing Health Care Event, Refuses To Go

Commented Nov 21, 2009 at 15:17:13 in Politics

“It is a shame, because it looked to me like Olbermann was doing his utmost to not turn this into a political stunt. There is no doubt that he was aiming to have these set up in the states where there are or were Democratic Senators who were still not supporting Health Care Reform, which I suppose does make it Political. But his efforts were purely in the interest of the well being of those who do not have Health Insurance and if it has done even the littlest bit to help sway the decisions of those senators toward supporting reform, then it does not matter if it ended up being political or not. President Clinton has the experience to know how it all works, and I would hope that he would change his mind and show up at this event being held in his Home Sate. The volunteers and the people that are there seeking help would certainly appreciate his presence and he will be a better man for it. Take your concerns up directly with Mr Olbermann, and do not shun the people in need because of your differences. That is the Republican "NOer's" job for which you have now given them and their FAUX Conservative Network ammo.”

Olbermann is doing GOOD for people. And yes, it has to do with politics why these clincs are being held where they are. SO WHAT? He is doing more than any one else, including Bill Clinton, to highlight the need.”

“The only thing we should be paying for in Iraq, is the rebuilding and maintenance, for the time being, is their Oil Wells. The income from that Oil will pay for their own rebuilding and maintenance, as well as reimbursing us, and possibly reducing our Oil Costs by providing us a steady stream of Oil at a reduced price. This whole situation in Iraq is more mind-boggling by the day. Shame on "W" and his partners in crime for getting our sons and daughters killed over there, and costing the taxpayers of this nation 100s of billion of dollars, all for nothing, other than their own self-aggrandizement. Other than funding the support and the withdrawal of our military, not another penny should be spent in Iraq.
"W", Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rove should all be in jail, or preferably facing the justice of the Iraqi People with the possibility of the same punishment as was handed down to Sadaam Hussein for the unnecessary deaths of 100s of thousands of their people since the start of the Iraq War.”

“Now someone needs to introduce an amendment that requires a majority vote by each State's voters in order to Opt Out, and not leave it up to the legislators that are being bankrolled by the Health Insurance Companies. as it is now, every state with a a GOP Majority in their Congresses will be opting out, before the people ever have any say in it, especially if these programs are being delayed until 2013 or 2014, never mind the opportunity to see how effectively it may work. As it is now, will it allow States to Opt back in, if the voters change the majorities in their legislatures and the majority wants to? I know this bill has a lot of problems as it is currently written, and it will be far from perfect, and will need further legislation as time and experience will show, just as previous major legislation has needed, but allowing this legislation to be delayed well beyond the next presidential elections in 2012, may also allow the possibility of a new administration to revoke the entire bill, if it were to change to the GOP.”

Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 15:33:12 in Politics

“LEt's face it, She could not afford to stay in office as Governor of Alaska, because of the numerous ethics complaints that were filed against her, that would have bankrupted her and her family. It's obvious that she brought this upon herself because of her own actions throughout her political career. It's too bad that she will apparently never be convicted of any of the ethics violations that she did commit, because she did in fact resign and by doing so most if not all of the complaints have been or will be dropped. She has run out on Justice
I would love to see a full investigation brought to bear upon her and "Not the God, Todd" regarding the home that he claims to have "built by himself". It's not coincidence that there was a Hockey rink, amongst other building projects going on in Wasilla, all about the same time that their Million dollar home was about to be built.. Racing snow mobiles and holding sown part time jobs, does not bring in the kind of money necessary to afford to build that house, especially when you take into consideration, the rather high cost of living in Alaska. The pictures we saw on the "Today" Show, prove that they were not exactly "living off the Land" At Least there are now several associated parties that are happy to reveal her for who/what she really is; A Fraud”

“The policy with China started long before Obama was president. Much has changed for the better in China, and I suspect that more good will come of it. IT is in our best interests to work toward maintaining the relationship that we now have with China, and continue to expand on it. They are a bigger Super Power than are we, they have a much larger military, and 4x as many citizens. While both political parties here in the US continue to divide this country to the point where I think one party would prefer to draw us toward another civil war, China continues to grow it's economy unlike anything the US has ever seen. When it comes to ultimate peace and stability in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I suspect that China may be the power that steps in and ultimately brings that about. Cuba is a small nation directly off our coast, where the people wish to be free and the government is entirely corrupt . Fidel could not be trusted and we still do not know at this time if his brother can be. This will take time, but I believe that Obama's desire to extend relations opens the door for the first time since JFK was President. "W" certainly never made any attempts to open a dialogue”

“I enjoy Conan, and prefer to watch him more often than Letterman, but I have to agree with Kirstie Alley. He seems to have a real disdain for her, and I do think he has gone too far with his affliction for joking about her, especially in the Prime Spot that he is in now. Got to give her Kudos though, the Bitten D!ck innuendo is funnier than anything he has said about her. He may want to make amends with her, and then hire her to do some of the writing for his show. So far his monologues do not rise to the level of Dave or Jay, never mind Carson.
It's obvious that her weight problems have seriously affected her ability to find work, which is too bad, because she is very funny and I loved it when she joined Cheers. There's got to be a great sitcom out there for her again, soon.”

The Inevitable Fluke That Is Sarah Palin

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 12:08:27 in Media

“That #1 Bestseller rating is total BS. Yeah, the retailers bought them up, and at this point, I'm not sure why,. There were 1.5 million printed, but they are not actually flying off the shelves as a #1Bestseller should and normally would. There are some retailers that have actually already marked them down by one third. I'm sure that there are regions of the country that are selling them at a pretty good clip, but it pales in comparison to most other Bestsellers. Yeah, we are well aware of her fans whom are very excited by a Dumb Broad to take the place of their Dumb Bush. I would not be surprised if some of the other books currently on the Bestseller list may actually be outselling her book, and not just in those regions where her book is not selling well. I was watching the monologue of one of the late night shows last night and the host asked how many people had already purchased her book since it went on sale yesterday. The total and complete silence was deafening. Not one person in that audience was even considering it, and then the crowd roared with laughter when they realized not one of them would be buying the book or the Fraud that is Sarah Palin. I'm sure that she will blame the host for it all.”

“Spend What Money ? with over 10% of the population unemployed, and those numbers don't tell the story of those who did not or no longer qualify for unemployment, which according to economic sources brings it to @ 18%. This kind of unemployment seriously affects the economy. These numbers also do not take into account the number of people who are "underemployed" which means that although they are working, they are not making enough money to subsist. One very striking story of a RN on a program last night that can not get a full time job between working at 2 different Institutions and does not even qualify for employer subsidized health care and therefore is unable to afford health insurance. Many of these people did not or would not be paying Federal Income taxes anyway based on their tax deductions, and they were already spending every penny on bare essentials, not even having the ability to afford 100% of those essentials, but have had to cut back even further in the last couple of years, and this has further eroded the economy. The dollar has always shown an ability to bounce back, and putting people back to work is the surest way to enable that, if it did have to take a hit for any period”

“Half a trillion or much more money should and could be the the minimum amount of money that Congress needs to be looking to spend on jobs creation...
This nation needs much more than this to even begin to repair or replace crumbling infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and waterworks. Then even more should be spent to gear up toward green energy sources, including, a temporary bridge toward it with the use of Natural Gas, and NO, we do not need to be affecting landowners/homeowners rights by giving the Natural Gas conglomerates unmitigated rights to drill on or under their property. There is more than enough NG reserves that are available for these conglomerates to access, without affecting entire neighborhoods and communities. Dedicating funding and further tax breaks toward clean energy transitions on all homes and businesses to reduce their reliance on Fossil fuels would also lessen our demand for foreign oil and create good paying jobs. All of These type of jobs are high paying, and the tax revenue plus down and upstream job creation throughout the nation's economy as well as world economies overall would end up replenishing the tax coffers and completely reverse the job losses we have seen over the last couple of years or so. With the numbers of unemployed now and to be expected in the next year or more, now is the time to enact this legislation and funding.”

These corporations are even worse in their monopolization, with their very real ability to bring the entire world financial markets to their knees, as well as some nations, unlike the threat that AT&T was back then. I hope that AG Cuomo of NY will be able to bring these corporations to court and ultimately the US Courts will realize the threats that these corporations bring upon not only the people of this nation, but most other nations as well and force their breakup so as to eliminate or severely minimize their ability to so seriously affect the free market system around the globe. Congress should also re-enact much of the old regulations that had prevented this type of scenario since the Great Depression, as well as enact laws that would prevent massive corporate takeovers that allow the these type of corporations from becoming "Too Big To Fail". There has never been any doubt about the results in VA., and although Dems are dissapointed with the results in NJ., we are not completely surprised. I suspect that the people of NJ., that failed to show up at the polling places in NJ, will be very dissapointed with the direction that their new governor takes them, though. With all the media attention and high profile engagement of the ultra conservatives in the 23rd, and the fact that they did end up losing conservative seat for the 1st time since the civil war, that should really put a true light on where they are going to ultimately end up, which is no where. Yes, they may retain their current district and regional seats and could bounce a few other moderate GOP'ers, but they will not gain any other important national seats now being held by democrats. The majority of the people in this nation see through the hatred and lies that they espouse, and the mid term elections as well as the last presidential election have shown clearly that when the elections really matter, they will turn away from the hatred and ignore those liars in favor of a moderate option.”

That would certainly scare me when you consider the decision in Pennsylvania against the Dover Board of Education for teaching Creationism. “This would be an absolutely great movement to finally put these huge institutions and their principals where they belong.... If everyone would pull all of their savings and other investments from these institutions and divert them to their local banks, it would really put the hurt on them. IT could hurt them so much, that they would not even have the ability to buy out the local banks as they have been prone to do since Reaganomics and Deregulation, started it all, and was the first time since the Great Depression, that we saw major failures in a financial Industry, that cost the taxpayers 100s of millions of dollars. This action might be just enough to bring them all down to size without totally wiping them out, and therefore, would put them at a size where they would no longer be "Too Big To Fail"
The other option, which would probably doom us all to another great depression would be for everyone that is in trouble with their mortgages to let these institutions foreclose on all of their properties, which would ultimately wipe them out, as they no longer want to extend credit to most people, so each of them would lose 100s of billions of dollars over the next decade and ultimately see their total demise.”

“These banks and mortgage companies are doing everything possible to avoid loan modifications as they were outlined by the fed. My bank is amongst them. I filled out the worksheet, and I have a decent fixed income unlike many who have or had jobs which they may lose or have already lost since going through the process of saving their homes with their banks. I would easily qualify for the modification, and my fixed income will give us a cushion for which to actually save some money for retirement age. Now I don't have enough to pay it, & my savings has been wiped out. They call every day looking for their payment, yet they won't offer me any help to get the modification.
I suspect that there are 100s of 1000s more like me who are experiencing the same situation. The Fed needs to extend this program, and really start applying more pressure on these banks and mortgagers to honor the true meaning of the law and help us homeowners, otherwise, we should all just stop paying them and let them spend the money on the foreclosure process and refuse to leave our homes. Put your money in escrow in the meantime that you would have used to pay the mortgage and continue paying your taxes and insurance.
