Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 15:43:55 in Politics

“That would be awesome!!! She and Todd were going to end up bankrupt and broken if she had continued as Alaska's Governor, due to all of the ethics complaints, so now she is out there selling a libelous book and doing speaking engagements for the lowly far right wing nuts, where those gigs and the money will run out before too long, so if she were to be sued, and the lawyers and complainants were to take the book money, she could conceivably end up in the same situation from which she ran away from in Alaska. The Fraud deserves nothing less”

Palin's Former Ally Calls More Lies to Rogue

Commented Nov 19, 2009 at 15:33:12 in Politics

“LEt's face it, She could not afford to stay in office as Governor of Alaska, because of the numerous ethics complaints that were filed against her, that would have bankrupted her and her family. It's obvious that she brought this upon herself because of her own actions throughout her political career. It's too bad that she will apparently never be convicted of any of the ethics violations that she did commit, because she did in fact resign and by doing so most if not all of the complaints have been or will be dropped. She has run out on Justice
I would love to see a full investigation brought to bear upon her and "Not the God, Todd" regarding the home that he claims to have "built by himself". It's not coincidence that there was a Hockey rink, amongst other building projects going on in Wasilla, all about the same time that their Million dollar home was about to be built.. Racing snow mobiles and holding sown part time jobs, does not bring in the kind of money necessary to afford to build that house, especially when you take into consideration, the rather high cost of living in Alaska. The pictures we saw on the "Today" Show, prove that they were not exactly "living off the Land" At Least there are now several associated parties that are happy to reveal her for who/what she really is; A Fraud”

“The policy with China started long before Obama was president. Much has changed for the better in China, and I suspect that more good will come of it. IT is in our best interests to work toward maintaining the relationship that we now have with China, and continue to expand on it. They are a bigger Super Power than are we, they have a much larger military, and 4x as many citizens. While both political parties here in the US continue to divide this country to the point where I think one party would prefer to draw us toward another civil war, China continues to grow it's economy unlike anything the US has ever seen. When it comes to ultimate peace and stability in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I suspect that China may be the power that steps in and ultimately brings that about. Cuba is a small nation directly off our coast, where the people wish to be free and the government is entirely corrupt . Fidel could not be trusted and we still do not know at this time if his brother can be. This will take time, but I believe that Obama's desire to extend relations opens the door for the first time since JFK was President. "W" certainly never made any attempts to open a dialogue”

The Inevitable Fluke That Is Sarah Palin

Commented Nov 18, 2009 at 12:08:27 in Media

“That #1 Bestseller rating is total BS. Yeah, the retailers bought them up, and at this point, I'm not sure why,. There were 1.5 million printed, but they are not actually flying off the shelves as a #1Bestseller should and normally would. There are some retailers that have actually already marked them down by one third. I'm sure that there are regions of the country that are selling them at a pretty good clip, but it pales in comparison to most other Bestsellers. Yeah, we are well aware of her fans whom are very excited by a Dumb Broad to take the place of their Dumb Bush. I would not be surprised if some of the other books currently on the Bestseller list may actually be outselling her book, and not just in those regions where her book is not selling well. I was watching the monologue of one of the late night shows last night and the host asked how many people had already purchased her book since it went on sale yesterday. The total and complete silence was deafening. Not one person in that audience was even considering it, and then the crowd roared with laughter when they realized not one of them would be buying the book or the Fraud that is Sarah Palin. I'm sure that she will blame the host for it all.”

“With the type of Wars being fought today, and most likely in the future, (unfortunately), the Nuclear Bomb really has no use. Wars have become more of a Gorilla Warfare type of battle, are directed more toward a regime or group, as opposed to an entire region or nation. Unless China and Pakistan step to the forefront of any disarmament agreement, with the US & Russia, this is going nowhere. I would love to see the disarmament of Nuclear Weapons around the globe. No doubt that it would lead to a more peaceful world with far more diplomacy used instead of weapons of any kind to resolve conflicts.”

“Thanks Max. Apparently you have no regard for the 63% majority that voted for this administration and it's plans to bring about real reform, especially with Health Care. Your sham of a bill only makes the wealthy Insurance Companies & their principals even wealthier, beyond imagination. Your Bill would make many of them wealthier than Exxon and it's Senior Executives. I suppose you are looking at life after the Senate, and would expect a nice 7 figure job with one of these companies. Did you even bother to consider the ramifications of your bill? IT would force companies, especially small companies to get rid of their older workforce and avoid hiring them altogether. Oh yeah, I know about the laws that are suppose to prevent discrimination based on age, which have not worked for years and would probably be changed in order to prevent any conflict so your friends at the Insurance Company can truly control the economy, similar to how Big Oil and the Mideast Oil Producers do. Do us all a favor & resign so you can go ahead & take that 7 figure job, & we all have no doubt as to your loyalty. You are despicable.”

I hate to say it, but the Feds need to cap their salaries/bonuses & pensions. they also need to enact legislation that prevents any corporation from becoming too big too fail; These type of corporations are tantamount to monopolies & have proven over and over that they have no concern for the public or the damage that they have reaped upon all but those in upper management for these same corporations when they get to the point of failure based on poor financial management. Each occurrence has cost Americans billions of dollars in recovery costs, wage/salary losses, pension losses, & insurance losses. They are in fact one of the biggest reasons that our government has undertaken such a huge deficit. When a Corporation makes that kind of profit and grows that large, they are in fact overcharging the consumer, so why shouldn't the consumer be reimbursed? Forcing spinoffs/selloffs will create more competition & help to control profiteering. It amazes me to hear the GOP and it's lunatic fringe supporters when they blame the government for these problems and refuse to support legislation enabling regulations to prevent this from reoccurring or allow our government to recoup some of the people's money that it has cost us as a result of these Corporate”

The facts were brought to light prior to his execution, yet the Texas Judicial system chose to ignore the facts & execute an innocent man all in favor of a conviction & another notch on the execution log for Texas archaic system. Is it a coincidence that Texas & Florida both lead the nation in executions, because their former governors are both Bushes? The previous administration in the white House has proven a hundred times over that it will ignore the facts in most any issue in favor of his own beliefs. We have no right to execute anybody, no matter how heinous their crimes.

The Obama Economic Team's Flawed Cosmology: Still Believing the Universe Revolves Around the Banks

Until these laws are changed, & there are regulations put in place that will actually prevent this type of scenario from being allowed to happen, we are all screwed. We better hope that once this mess on Wall St is resolved, that Congress takes Steps to make those changes & create true regulation, and Break up these companies so that they are running as separate entities doing business solely & uniquely for the product(s) that they were originally opened for. There needs to be a law that forces the breakup/division of any company that begins to reach the point of being "To Big to Fail". “I don't agree with the Author. The Mortgage Lenders & Wall St ruined the entire financial system with their "Fuzzy Math". It was Greed that caused this Recession/ Depression, & it has damaged every sector of the financial system around the Globe. Why not give most homeowners on the brink of losing their homes the ability to continue to pay their lender(s)? If we can make an affordable monthly mortgage payment, thereby putting capitol into the market, how does it not help the entire system? If Obama & Congress would agree to lower the Mortgage Interest Rate for every Mortgagee not just those on the bubble, wouldn't this be fair for everyone & garner more support? These Financial Houses cannot seem to dig their way out, so why not let Main St get the help & see if they are able to keep their homes & possibly have some money left over at the end of the month? If potential new Homeowners have the ability to purchase a home at the current value & with a lower fixed rate, how does that not help to build capitol in the Financial system. It's all about the flow of money, right? So far there is nothing flowing from the Financial sector down, so it's time to go at it from the other direction. From Main St. UP. How does it help the system if you pay less than you owe? How does it help you if you have to pay back more than the property is worth? You are both a dead weight on society and a continuous financial risk for yourselves. The smart person takes a loss and walks away with one black eye, then rebuilds. But the desperate homeowner who can't pay his debt simply wants society to finance his dream of involuntary servitude.

There is nothing fuzzy about a loan application, be it an ARM or not. If you can't use a pocket calculator or a spreadsheet to evaluate your payments and risk, you are simply not qualified to be in debt. It's no different from being a one legged man with an inability to tell left from right who wants to drive a passenger bus.

Home ownership is an expensive privilege, not a right. On average it's not even a good investment. Live with it.”

“Due to California's Geographical location between the Pacific & the Sierra Mountains, they could even be so bold as to Ban, Dismantle &/or refit Coal Burning plants outright & be so aggressive as to do it within 5 years. It is the worst possible source for Energy in that state based on the tons of Carbon emissions it produces. It should not be difficult to replace them with the Renewable energy sources now avaialble, especially where California already leads the way in these energy sources. Why continue to pollute their state any longer than necessary when you have a viable solution. The state should also require all new homes or addition/remodeling permits to require a minimum amount of that home's energy to be produced by self contained renewable energy. Imagine if every homein California had at least one solar panel on their roof top? What if they had the minimum amount of Solar/Wind power on their property to produce enough electricity to charge their electric cars that could be another requirement for every commuter? Is it really that far beyond the Realm? I suspect that most California Residents previously thought that Ed Begley was a nut job, just 5 years ago because of his initiative & foresight, & now they are taking steps in his path to do at least something. “Every homeowner with a mortgage that has seen their home's value decrease over the last couple of years needs to be included in this solution, so it is fair. The Simplest way to do it is as put forward by a Nevada Congressman whom is even a Republican, that suggested a 4% cap on all mortgages new & old. This would allow most of those on the brink of foreclosure to be able to afford staying in their homes, & it can go a bit further by blocking any foreclosure where the homeowner can prove that they have the ability to make thoe new payment going forward, without having to make up the past due payment up front, but adding it to the end of the loan. I don't even think it would be necessary to lower the principal owed on these existing mortgages as a way of a "give back" from the homeowner to the lenders. The Lenders lower & lock all mortgage rates at 4%, & existing homeowners pay the new rate & but will still pay the full balance existing at the new rate. It will save most homeowners several hundred dollars a month going forward but will still pay back the lenders the original amount owed.”

“That's what's wrong with most of republican theory. They are so worried about what's "fair" and no one "getting more" than them. Clue: you're no longer in a sandbox. This is real life. A 4% cap across the board does not address everyone's problems. Some don't need it to go that low. Others will need a reduction in principal to stay in thier homes. Unfortunately for the righties, you'd be stupid to try some blanket fix on such a complex problem.

We don't want people buying up foreclosures at foreclosure prices when we could have the original owner in the home at current value. We don't want those bought up foreclosures filled with renters, when they could be filled with owners. We don't want those foreclosures doing what most are doing, which is sitting empty. That means no taxes are being collected, the value is depreciating monthly, and inventory continues to rise.

Stop thinking about yourself and what is "fair". Think about the actual problem and address it as dynamically as the problem. That is the correct approach.”

Right now, every thing to do with international trade is ANTI_American. It needs to be seriously tweaked but not eliminated. NAFTA is the right premise, but again, it's regulations were clearly lacking & unfortunately, our US Corparations took advantage of lax rules to nearly ruin it's intent. One of the best goals of NAFTA was to give Mexico & other parts of Latin america the opportunity to gain greater economic & Ecological Gains amongst North America, so it could raise the lifestyles of it's peoples as a whole.
