“Obama clearly does not care about health care. Apparently, even the the heavy political implications of blowing off his base doesn't concern him either. Does he know that the Elite control elections and he was "allowed" to win because of the deals he cut. The Elite control elections just as they have controlled the conversation on Health Care. The pretense of Democracy has long been dropped. Obama, servant of the Elite, will stand on the balcony and do as he's told. He is told the slaves will not get health care unless THEY decide.
The president who was represented as the voice of working people is not. He is allowed to extend tokens, nothing more. We must end corporate finance of elections and we must end the media monopoly. We must also do everything in our power to police voting of every election.
I hope Kucinich goes Independent and runs against Obama.”

“Unfortunately the progressive agenda (if there ever was one, which if you read Matt Talabi's piece it's pretty clear there wasn't) of this administration is over. The House has already said ENDA, DOMA, card check, etc are off the table for 2010. And I have little doubt that the Democrats will lose the house in 2010 and 5-7 Senate seats. And that will be that. With the Repugs back in control of the house and the DINO's giving them effective control of the Senate the Neo-feudalism of the corporations will really swing into full force. And the Sellout-in-Chief will go right along with it - all in the spirit of bipartisanship!”

Objective: Provide cheap affordable man power at abject poverty level wages. Eliminate all costs for high level human safety requirements as "employees" are systemically denied medical attention, least of all, investigative medical and health services / resources.
Im from Arkansas. I grew up there. Long gone from there now. There is poverty in Arkansas like people in other parts of the country don't even know about. All around the out skirts of Little Rock live hundreds of thousands of poor people living in houses made of bill boards and fruit crates. The neighboring Pine Bluff has a rotting downtown and business streets where oppressive poverty has wasted this once robust little town into a wasteland ready for movie sets about the end of time. While this downtown crumbles, poor people still live there.
Its the nasty undeserving poor from such wastelands and desolation zones that the well to do Southerner wants to keep out of their doctor's offices and hospitals. The south knows every form of legal segregation angle known to human history and they know how to make it happen. You have money , you're in the club, no money, you share with the rest of the undeserving poor AKA the black poor in particular.”

“II knew this horrid health care bill was gonna pass. The health care industry wrote most of it. They get their power locked in, no competition to speak of. Big pharma gets to continue to rape us like chained ten year olds and no real power is given to the people. People still have to grovel to employers for health care and be vulnerable to their every whim . Yep this whole thing has been, as usual, a big scam. They intended to pass it all along. Can't wait to vote Green from here on out for the rest of my life.”

Victoria Reggie Kennedy's Op-Ed: What Ted Kennedy Would Say About Health Care Bill
Commented Dec 19, 2009 at 00:09:43 in Politics
“"Ted often said that we can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" I don't believe for one second that Ted Kennedy would have wanted this horrible deal for Americans. Not only does it entrenched the power of the abusive for-profit health care that has killed and crippled millions, but it does nothing to insure the quality of care poorer working people get for their dollar.
The horrible part is it mandates that all Americans buy Health care and does nothing to hold down the costs. One person said this is criminalizing poverty. To a real degree it is.
The perfect/enemy argument really burns me up when the offering is sooooo bad. It is saying , that no amount of compromise it too much. Here marry this drunk or you will never get to marry. Not much of a choice. Exactly what this horrible terrible bill that is all about our masters demanding complete and utter control no matter what.”

“You're wrong. I had health care and was just pushed through the system without getting good coverage. This happens everyday. The 45000 you speak of won't get care for 4 years in this bill. This is part of the protest. 45000 x 4 is a big part of the protest. That's 180,000 we are protesting FOR.
This is just a put off and and a put off that they will use to hike prices off the charts like the financial industry until the date which they will then try to wiggle out of and water down more. It's like, marry this drunk or be a spinster. This option is not adequate by a long shot and that's why the Fire Sale atmosphere. We don't have to marry the drunk or go without. We want a good bill. We don't have to allow ourselves to be forced to chose crap or nothing. Wake up.”

“A few years back, I got too sick to work and then after about a year I applied for unemployment. I was way too late to apply, but I had actually been so ill I couldn't really make phone calls so when I finally got well enough to try to talk to people and deal with bureaucracy I called Unemployment. I couldn't get it, for another reason, because I was still too sick to work. About a week later I started getting inundated by CountryWide. They were sending big bundles of junk mail, about two a week, and they started calling and calling. Finally after calling a dozen times in a month, I snapped. I was very sick and they would let the phone ring on and on. I actually told them to quit stalking me. I believed at the time that their calling me was brought about by my inquiry to Unemployment because the avalanche of interest from them was within days of my talking to Unemployment.
My point is, since then I learned that the government has hired call centers in India to do a lot of this intake and that these call centers are owned by banks. These banks are taking the sensitive info people give to unemployment and food stamp intake, etc. and using it to take you down and selling it to other financial agencies. Your hardship is being collected and used against you.”
