Unemployment Benefits Extension: $100 Billion Safety Net In The Works

“We used to earn about $125,000 a year with stellar health insurance. This year our gross income will be about $18,000 (mostly unemployment benefits). Our expenses have been around $30,000 to $35,000. Do the math. We given up prescriptions, mental health consults, dental visits, eye doctor, eating out, trips, gifts to each other and others (except for my 9 yr old's b'day). I could go on.
Are we thankful for the unemployment benefits? YOU BET!!! Are we "spening" it ... yes on BILLS, GAS and GROCERIES.
We're lucky and grateful to be receiving the benefits. Many don't have unemployment insurance to fall back on. And there's no end in sight. Dismal to say the least. To say ending benefits would compel people to look for work is beyond insulting and could only be spoken by someone with a job.”

“So true.My son,his wife and my ex were all laid off by different companies in the spring.There are no jobs here in central Indiana.My son and his wife lost food stamps because they make too much money from unemployment.They pay rent,utilities,and buy what food they can They have two small boys.What will happen if they run out of benefits? There is money for the banks and war, but none for food and shelter.i am so very angry about this.I will protest in the streets,just like I did during the unjust Vietnam war. That is what Afghanistan is becoming.God help us, we never learn anything from history.”

“I hope things turn around for you. I would like to see some of these people "live" on $1500 a month before they accuse people collecting unemployment of being lazy or too proud. Both of my brothers lost their jobs recently and are collecting unemployment, and even though they cracked jokes about it around the Thanksgiving dinner table, I could tell they were hurting inside. Luckily they are both young and single and have only themselves to provide for, I can't imagine how difficult it would be for someone responsible for a family.”

She made that painfully obvious when she reminded her husband what the talking points were while doing the interview. They seemed overly rehearsed and IMO their body language spoke volumes.
Having said during the interview that their "lives had been destroyed", they clearly have decided they are going to take this OPPORTUNITY to TRY and sue everyone in creation for defamation of character (to save themselves from impending financial ruin unrelated to this matter) but I propose such a plan will backfire and blow up in their faces.
One would assume getting an invitation to the White House would be something one would save as a momento of the event so let them produce the invitation.”

I have supported him, I have worked to get him elected, and proudly display my bumper sticker in GA where I am VERY MUCH in the minority. If he does this, he is not the man I elected.
