“Another brillant historical analysis offered by a Republican Neo-con who perhaps in the long tradition of the Neo-Con forces in this country is "trying" to either put a spin on History or rewrite History in their own image.”

“I too have stopped giving money to the Democratic Party. In fact I went a step further, I changed my Political affliation to the Democratic Socialist Party as a protest to the Democratic policies that have hurt not only members of the GLBT community, but also to the Parties inability to back the core of Democratic belief's such as Healthcare for all, and end to Corporate greed, and not ending the War in both Iraq and Afganistan.

More folks need to do the same thing and show the Democratic Party that they need to listen to the American people not the money-eyed Corporate folks on Wall Street.”

“If my taxes are to go up then they should go up to help support either single Payer insurance or a strong Public Option, I hope the taxpayers aren't going to have to bend over again as we did with the Bailout we "gave" to Wall Street and the Banks who were "too big to fail".”

Sorry, Not Enough House Votes To Pass Health Care Bill Without a Public Option

Commented Aug 17, 2009 at 16:05:24 in Politics

“I voted for Obama because I believed in his message of Change, because Change meant Hope, something that has been lacking in this country during the last 8 years of Republican rule. A rule of no hope, no change, no nothing. But, as I read and watch the news, it seems that Obama and his Advisors are "thinking of jettisoning" the Public Option in the Healthcare Debate.

Mr. President, if you jettison the Public Option, then you jettison Hope for the Millions of Americans like myself who are living on a thread due to our precarious health, it means sir that you are robbing our future to save your Politcal Hide, I am aware of the tide of fear which seems momentous to you and the other members of the Democratic Party, but hold fast to your Pledge to us, make Hope happen.

I would like to suggest to everyone to pull off the road safely and blow your horn in your vehicule this coming Friday at 12noon, send a message of Hope and a need to put the Pledge of Change into the air and revitalize Hope across this country, make the Leaders of this Country hear us, shake the walls of every state capitol and Congress in Washington, with our horns, show them We are the real power in this Country.”

But, in a way this may be just the ticket for the middle class to wake up and take to the streets, the internet, the library, each other and find ways to protest, put a wrench into the well oiled Corporate machine and fight back...in other words, stop us from waiting from the "word" on high and put ourselves into the drivers seat for change....this time from the bottom up!!!”

“I think we are on the same page on this topic, but I believe that neither Party would expect the other to "give permission" to split apart.

I would also agree that having 4 political Parties would be a boon to the entire political spectrum in the country, it would I think vitalize the national interest in politics, cause more people to become involved in their expression of political solidarity with whatever faction they would or could join. It would reduce the extremist viewpoints of the two Parties, and like you mentioned "bring everyone a little closer to the center".

Out of curiosity who and how would the split take place? Could the common voter urge this split and be listened too in a realistic manner? I'm rather excited at the prospect of having the Two Parties actually listen to the voting public, instead of always have information handed down to us, it would be much more of an advantage to have a"bottom up" dialogue than the normal "top down" conversation.”

“In actual fact, I believe we are headed for a muti-Party coalition government, the Republicans have in reality two Parties, One Middle of the Road and the other extreme RightWing, and in the Democratic Party there is the Progressive Liberal Faction and the rightwing "Blue Dogs or Blue Cross Democratic faction. I feel that the country is equally divided into these four factions throughout the Country. If the Europeans can have multi-Parties and work out coalitions between groups would best serve the people of United States as well. Its either this or a potential break-up of the United States as we currently know it.”

Conservador-Rebelde replied on Aug 05, 2009 at 15:18:31

“I agree, (maybe not exactly how the parties lay out, but agree nonetheless). The only problem is that with only two parties, one will not break without the guarantee of the other. You know what I mean? If democrats don't specifically promise to split, then repubs never would.

Four parties would make far more sense and perhaps even out the "radical" edges by bringing everyone a little closer to center, as they have to play to a smaller group.”

Confronting the Greedy

Commented Jun 23, 2009 at 14:31:42 in Business

“Wrestle control from the Rich? It going to have to take alot more than the President Obama to do so, it is going to have to come right down to a social revolution to accomplish being down the Establisment of Corporate greed. And that means taking to the streets and protesting, most Americans talk about being frustrated and angry, but they on the whole are not angry enough to take action and take risks in the confrontation that must happen. When Americans really are mad enough and pushed into the corner, then and only then will they act.”

“Obama has not kept his promises to the GLBT Community, okay, thats nothing new, we've seen it time and again from the Democratic Party, we"ve also seen the Republican Party revile us and refuse to address our needs.

Perhaps its time for us in the GLBT Community to look beyond either the Democratic or Republican Parties. I have been a Democrat all of my life, but I find that I have become more progressive that the Democratic Tent is willing to travel, I have therefore decided to change my Registration from a member of the Democratic Party to one that I feel makes more sense to me as a Gay man and Liberal Progressive....I've joined the Democratic Socialist Party of America. Its a much better fit!”

However, you will only get 5-10% of the vote consistently (depending on the area where you live).
The benefit is that this idea will guarantees that the gay issue and agenda will finally get out of our hair. Then normal citizens will be able to approach real issues that affect our country. No more freak ideas which do not make any sense. Think of the money we will save.”

As an African American woman, I am sick and tired of hearing you moan and groan about your rights. You don't have a clue how it actually feels to have all rights stripped as a human being. You see, if you don't want people to know you are gay, you can hide the fact; but, my people couldn't hide the fact that we were/are black.

You don't hear African Americans bashing our president to pay attention to us as a people because we know that he is doing his darnest to straighten out this mess of an economy. We are more concerned about Health Care. Leave the man along. Those gays who chose to "come out" while still in the military,..well...they are stupid. Not one slave came out of hiding until Harriet Tubman let them know that it was safe-even though they know that what was happening to them was WRONG.
