The Rational Case For 'Kill The Bill'

The Rational Case For 'Kill The Bill'

Commented Dec 23, 2009 at 19:30:09 in Media

“Its time for the true Leftist Progressives to abandon the Democratic "Middle only Counts" Party and set sail to form their own Party and seek coalitions with other like minded folks from the Left. It seems that during Election times the Progressives within the Democratic Camp are used as the main foot soliders for the Democratic Party and we get"promises" from the leaders of the Party that appeal to the Progressive agenda, but after the election is a done deal and the Democrat that was elected then seems to run either to the right of the Party and become a Blue Dog Democrat or a middle of the road nobody. Its the rhetric of the Centralist Democrat Party that keep reminding us that the Country rests politically in the Middle.....that may in fact be a true statement but unless the leftist viewpoint is pushed and discussed we will remain stuck in the middle. Its time to form a new party and tell the Democratic right and Center to go.......fish!!!”

If we don't get the Reform as a result of greedy or DEAF politicans from either party, then its time to vote them out in 2010.”

No thanks? The only way we can ever say no thanks is to act in unison, all doing the same set of actions and most or all of us telling other Americans about single-payer, Medicare for All, and its benefits.

“I think we are on the same page on this topic, but I believe that neither Party would expect the other to "give permission" to split apart.

I would also agree that having 4 political Parties would be a boon to the entire political spectrum in the country, it would I think vitalize the national interest in politics, cause more people to become involved in their expression of political solidarity with whatever faction they would or could join. It would reduce the extremist viewpoints of the two Parties, and like you mentioned "bring everyone a little closer to the center".

Out of curiosity who and how would the split take place? Could the common voter urge this split and be listened too in a realistic manner? I'm rather excited at the prospect of having the Two Parties actually listen to the voting public, instead of always have information handed down to us, it would be much more of an advantage to have a"bottom up" dialogue than the normal "top down" conversation.”

“In actual fact, I believe we are headed for a muti-Party coalition government, the Republicans have in reality two Parties, One Middle of the Road and the other extreme RightWing, and in the Democratic Party there is the Progressive Liberal Faction and the rightwing "Blue Dogs or Blue Cross Democratic faction. I feel that the country is equally divided into these four factions throughout the Country. If the Europeans can have multi-Parties and work out coalitions between groups would best serve the people of United States as well. Its either this or a potential break-up of the United States as we currently know it.”

Conservador-Rebelde replied on Aug 05, 2009 at 15:18:31

“I agree, (maybe not exactly how the parties lay out, but agree nonetheless). The only problem is that with only two parties, one will not break without the guarantee of the other. You know what I mean? If democrats don't specifically promise to split, then repubs never would.

Four parties would make far more sense and perhaps even out the "radical" edges by bringing everyone a little closer to center, as they have to play to a smaller group.”
