Get Off Obama's Back: Second Thoughts From Michael Moore
Commented Oct 11, 2009 at 21:35:32 in Politics
“President Obama is one person...he can only do so much on his own. He needs all of us, all who elected him to get reconnected to the cause he challenged us to be a part of through his campaign. We are the HOPE and the CHANGE we wished for. We have to be vigilant and active if we want our world to be different.”

“And who would be more qualified? You maybe...or someone You choose. I think the committee made a wise and thoughtful choice. The committee is recognizing the potential of President Obama's future works. And personally, I think that is a far wiser decision...building hope for positive change in the world.”

“Great post...spot on! I am extremely proud of my president. I was when I campaigned for him, I was when I voted for him, when I stayed up all night for three days watching the January activities, when I walked through my neighborhood pushing for the stimulus and health care reform and I am with him now.”

“Thank you for such a well written piece that was based on sound observations of President Obama.
Civility has been in short supply in the last few months, but our president has maintained a posture that has been extremely supportive of all people and all countries.”

“"...younger kids are easily manipulated into agreeing with the teacher's views. More and more, parents feel undermined by school officials who shamelessly attempt to "fix" children raised with traditional values." What did you say? Wow, if this is really how you feel about teachers...you feel teachers are somehow trying to manipulate the minds of children, why send them to school at all? You need to stay at home and home school them.”

“Sorry to disagree with you. I am not a teeny-bopper by a long shot and I am no weird cult fan...but I did love Micheal Jackson along with many other musicians. And I every so often rock MJ loud while I am driving from place to place. The last time I did that was on Monday, three days before his death.”

“Sufi66, A one hit wonder? Really? I am laughing out loud because I know you are kidding and trying to spread a little humor around. If that is not the case you are so out of touch.”

“That the one hit was "thriller" doesn't change the fact. Does anyone still listen to the music, like they listen to the Beatles or Dylan or even the Stones? The answer is no, because there was little substance to his music.”

“I would like to know exactly what you loved about MJ. That he became popular is obvious.
His lyrics were cliche, though he could dance. So?
He became a freak. So tell me what did you love?”

“Really? Death is waiting around the corner of all of us. You can step out of your door on day and get struck by lightening, drive down the street and get hit by a drunk driver, have a heart attach or stroke, at any moment in time anything could happen...there are no guarantees. So the health of any justice on the Supreme court is a very small concern. They will be on the bench as long as time allows. Stop worrying!!! Judge Sotomayor could out live you and me, or we could out live her...who knows.”

“Oh how gracious of you. You missed her point. America has done may things to blacks, women, Asian, Hispanics that weren't right. But, in spite of all of that these groups have continued loving the country; while hating many of the negative positions the country has taken. The election of President Obama shows finally maybe our country is trying to change to be more inclusive and tolerant of others. I agreed with Ms. Obama's statement when she made it and I still agree with she said now.
Like her I have always been proud to be and American but not always proud of the things America has done. You can love someone but not like their actions.”

ASU Stiffs Obama, Claims Too Inexperienced For Honorary Degree

“Wow I just found out that ASU conferred and honorary degree on Raul H. Castro on June 2, 1972. And they have the nerve to say our president is not worthy of their little degree? They should wish that he wanted to accept one from them. Personally, an honorary degree from them would not be worth the time of day.
