“There's no amount of disinfectant that could convince me it's safe to put food dishes in there after someone's an al beads had been dishwashed..... and what about all that stuff that sits in the bottom of the dishwasher in between runs? Bwaaaaaaaa”
“they are not high terrorists....they have been marginalized for 12 years... they will have to be released in a year or so anyway once we are officially out of Afghanistan. Do you expect these men to stay in Gitmo for the rest of their lives? They have never been charged with anything and at least this way we get something for them. And yes, Gitmo should have been closed years ago...should never have been opened.”
“Are you saying it's okay to just find this man guilty of desertion and leave him behind without hearing his side or maybe have a serious investigation, and maybe not take the word of his fellow soldiers who have said they thought he was weird because he didn't drink beer with them? Yeah, that's fair.”

“I thought there was a chance you were more intelligent than some of your blind compatriots. Oops! My bad!
"I" said nothing about leaving him behind. My Kool Aid reference was for the people who refuse to look at the evidence we do know. Not One person has said anything good about Sgt Bergdahl. Who cares if he doesn't drink beer? His actions on the day he disappeared are suspect to say the least, but desertion is the call of his Commander and the the Chief of Staff, who have not said one word yet. I wait to hear their decision. The only thing he is absolutely guilty of is AWOL. Which is essentially a misdemeanor offense. They haven't charged him with that either, but I am sure they have their reasons.”
“I don't think I it's about justifying bad behavior. I think it is more about pointing out the massive hypocrisy and faux outrage .... but gawd forbid if lefties had done this when Repubs made their own deals.”
“It is remarkable how these people can declare, with such clarity and certainty, these "facts" as they know them. How they are able to choose what they will claim as theirs and not theirs.... This fellow disowns this soldier and others don't claim this president, as if by declaring this, it makes it so.... Simple minds?”

“It would appear that all of the super users have been into the Kool Aid locker again!”
“That is what we in the FACTS world call a DIRECT QUOTE!!!!!!! I think we all know who is stuck in the imagination world here.”
Shawn Swigart on Jun 2, 2014 at 17:10:50
“A direct quote? does that mean that it does not mean what it means ? Because you get to invent a new term for it? Direct quote means that it is a report of the exact words. So yes since the video I posted was the exact words it is a direct quote. I don't thing the quote has any ambivalence to it, especially since the guy that said it has done exactly what the direct quote said he would do.”
We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We’ll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You’ll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You’ll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.
This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.”
“AND HERE ...is the rest of the story (or should I say the speech IN CONTEXT)
Obama, July 2, Colorado Springs, CO: [As] president I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots [from 75,000] and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their effort connected to a common purpose.
People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer. So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.

“So Americorp is a defense force? that is equal to the military? You can make up what ever you want about what he said. I think it was pretty plain.”
“Why would you blame Obama for this? You do know that DHS was started under Bush, right? And TSA expansion as well. As for 21,000 border patrol...isn't that what rightwingers wanted? This is a big country with many jurisdictions that have police forces. Most of us like the idea of someone to call in an emergency. If you want a place with no authority, head to Somalia and become a pirate.”
Shawn Swigart on Jun 2, 2014 at 11:45:13
“Obama has publicly stated that he wants a civilian police force that equals the military. I don't know what right wingers want. I suspect that they want our borders secured like every one else. I understand that Bush started some of these agencies. He was a terrible president TOO. Obama has expanded them and overseen the increased militarization of existing police agencies. You are going to call armed postal inspectors to come help you ? Most of us actually like the idea of freedom.
“I just want her to stop trying to deny her party ... 410,000 people have healthcare in Kentucky because of Obamacare/KYNECT (that's what it's called here). She shouldn't have to run from that...”
Animol on May 30, 2014 at 18:52:58
“Is she only suppose to represent Kentuckians who are Democrats though, not only that, but only Kentucky Democrats who support Obamacare? I mean that would be like expecting Obama to represent only those Americans who voted for him.”
“You mean like how Dana Perino went to Fox News? Stop pretending that Republican press secretaries don't do their share of deflecting and stalling and in hers and Ari Fleischer's case, lie through their pearly whites...”
Maybe then you won't accuse this president or this general of unconscionable service... not everything is black and white and can be solved with a wave of a wand. This administration has worked to move paper backlog to digital, which is a huge step (considering there was a building that was condemned with the weight of paper claims). It's amazing that no one ever blamed Bush for anything while he was in office or after, but are certain everything has to be Obama's fault now. Let's just say there's plenty of blame to go around, but starting two wars, not budgeting for the aftermath and then dumping it on the next guy sure should get at least SOME of the blame, don't you think? And let's not forget about the Republicans in the house and senate who block every effort by the president or Democrats to improve the system.... they should be severely punished for their obfuscation and sheer laziness.”
