“Constructive tip, not that you would care about actual facts, 80% of Americans will not be affected. Also: Do you know how many are without health insurance now?”

“Very funny! BTW no one knows how many are w/out insurance now. The estimates vary widely, from 12 to 40 million. The number you embrace depends on your ideology. I assume you'll "believe" the highest number possible.”
“Actually, the "vast majority" are not even affected by ACA. But keep your hopes up that the system will fail so you can say I told you so while millions go without.”

“Constructive tip, not that it will matter: The CBO reports, and the administration has conceded that IF Obamacare works perfectly (ha-ha) there will be 30 million uninsured after 10 years of operation. I didn't tell you so, they did. The question is: Why are you unable to confront this?”
“There are plenty of videos to view of public police involved in Walmart sales altercations. Who do think has been doing the arresting? Also, it didn't seem like Jimi was complaining about the existence of food stamps or feeding people - just the idea that we (I pay plenty of taxes) are subsidizing Walmart's low wages. People that work every day shouldn't need food stamps. Costco in our town pay almost double what Walmart does and they seem pretty damn profitable. If you think that 5 cents on the dollar is low profit for a business like Walmart, you know very little about business.”
“First we (taxpayers) were subsidizing Walmart's poor pay policies by giving their employees food stamps and other benefits, now we have to pay for sending police to be their security at their ill conceived sales.”

“Nah, most of the time local governments are so stingy with police pay that the cops have to moonlight just to make ends meet.
Enjoy your cranky, tired, stressed out police officers this holiday season! Hint: When encountering a cop, move slowy, keep your hands in full view, and be as polite as possible. Sleep deprivation can cause aggression and paranoia.”

“Basically, he is asking for a prostitute that would be paid with rent - and more depending on negotiations. Seems honest and straight forward to me. If I was a prostitute, I'd rather do this than hook on the street.”
“All of these people from Cruz to Palin have learned it's not about governing - it's all about fund raising. They are like the political version of crooked televangelists. Palin is way ahead of Cruz on this. She doesn't even waste her time actually running anymore - let alone governing. Just fund raising.
I'd give them credit for their innovation if it wasn't so detrimental the our country.”
Jazzlily on Nov 23, 2013 at 13:47:29
“Makes me wonder where the funds go that they are raising. I would like Palin & Cruz to run away together and stay out of our country. They are making politics dirtier than ever.”
“Yes and I'm sure that the CEO of Ford Motor Company has never built a car or used an impact wrench. Get real. Agree with them or not, these guys don't personally design the curriculum. They are managers that move the ideas and funding. Whatever curriculum you believe is best, we don't want teachers doing the work these people are doing anymore than we want these people to teach. Most of these people are doing this without pay along with giant donations from their own pocket. Like their methods or not, at least they are doing what they think is right.
Not being an education professional - like most readers here - I know that I don't know what is best, except to see what works and try to duplicate it when possible.”

“I'm sure the CEO of Ford Motor Company who doesn't know how to use an impact wrench doesn't tell the wrench operator how to do it!”

“The problem is they are determining what happens on the classroom, and when it doesn't work, they're not the ones blamed for the failures--teachers bear the brunt.”

“But Teachers seem to think they can.”

“The problem is, these people are greatly affecting and designing curriculum, mostly by narrowing it and standardizing it using business models, which fail children. If they all worked to do nothing more than secure funding for education teachers would hail them, but most of them are involved in privatization, not funding.”
“I remember the incidents well. My question was about your NUMBERS which are not even close. Rand has already outdone Biden in number of times and severity and although both were wrong Biden handled it much better. Rand whines that he is only in politics for the good of America and if we don't quit bugging him he's gonna go back to being a doctor. Right?”
“Grade school remark from the Great Interrupter. I agree with Mathews on most issues but I can't stand watching his show. Not that Christie is much different. Both are egotistical blowhards IMHO with little respect for the people around them.”
“OK, so from what I have seen and read, Rand is missing the whole point. He seems to think that by naming the movies he is using to make his point, he is not plagiarizing. But of course no one has accused him of plagiarizing the movie, they are accusing him of plagiarizing the Wikipedia entry written by someone else to describe the movie.
So for me the question is whether he is not really listening to what his accusers are saying, or he knows exactly what they are saying but thinks his followers are not smart enuf to understand the nuanced difference.
Either way, he should never have been elected as a Senator, let alone be considered for the leader of the free world.”
