“Smoking is not the only cause of lung cancer. Smoking can cause any type of cancer, heart disease or other health problems. Do you say to someone with skin cancer, too bad for you - you chose not to wear sunscreen? Or someone with colon cancer, sorry you have colon cancer - eat more fiber next time.
Lung cancer can be caused from smoking, yes...however it effects non-smokers too.
Most people don't find out they have lung cancer until it is too late. The reason that lung cancer is the number one killer - is because there are limited early detection methods. Unlike breast, colon, cervical, prostate cancers - and thanks to the fundraisers for these causes, research and education are better and they have found successful ways to do early detection - saving millions of lives.
Lung cancer deserves more attention and "race for the cure lung cancer" - we need to properly educate and tear down the stigmas that surround lung cancer - because it is not just a smokers cancer.
People make bad choices all the time, but no one deserves to die from cancer, not even lung cancer.”
