“Yes. If heroin and the actual active chemical in this drug were legal, drug addicts would not play chemistry and mess up the reaction leaving the toxic components. Prohibition is why addicts turn to less safe alternatives.”
seawulf on Oct 10, 2013 at 18:16:18
“I actually thought it was because they are always looking for a new high. If you legalize everything, they will eventually get around to mixing something new up, but you will have a lot more addicts to sell it to.”
“I am not a fan of privatizing prisons, but this article goes too far.
The policy makers who sign these contracts have nothing to do with the law makers who make new criminal laws or law enforcement. The 90% beds in use clause is based on the current estimates of use, to ensure extra prisons are not being built. To think that a state would imprison their population to ensure they reach a contractual quota with a vendor is crazy, and does not happen.”
“The fed prints money on thief own. The fed owns over 30 percent of the national debt. The fed could print money today and buy all the china owned debt. They can expand their balance sheet forever if they choose.”
“Sad part is, that all private banks print money when they issue loans. They don't loan out deposits, they loan out bank credit they create out of nothing. Then borrow any reserves needed after the fact”
“Actually all private banks print money. We have a debt based monetary system. New money is created when new loans are issued. A growing economy requires a growing money supply or we face deflation, thus a growing economy requires a growth in private and or public debt. This is the way the system works”
Eileen Carman on Sep 14, 2013 at 21:18:57
“ALL private banks have printing presses on site? If so, why do armored trucks drive from place to place dragging currency to the various sites? What? Their presses can't keep up with demand?
Actually, the printing of fiat currency in this country is done at the request of the Federal Reserve Bank and that is why their name is on the paper, Ya Know, Federal Reserve Note.”
“Wow. So ignorant. You know each year the govern spends around 14% of GDP. The entire debt is not even 130”
KMoore4 on Sep 14, 2013 at 08:28:41
“If we spend 14% of the GDP then tax every person 14% and if we are spending so much les than we make, why are we 17 trillion in the hole, and on a projection to 20 trillion in 2016. if there are 315 million people, and the hole is 17 trillion then your part is 53,968.25”
“Yep, the 800 number idea works great for the starving children in Africa right? Oh wait, it does not.”
KMoore4 on Sep 11, 2013 at 07:37:11
“Let’s face facts you want to help them with
my money, not so much with your own, same with funding ACA; As long as the
46.6 percent get to vote on what the 53.4% get to pay for, we will have a
problem. If we would just fund these things with a VAT tax that everyone pays,
the votes would change dramatically, especially if the tax went up when the
demand went up.”

“The idea behind fat free is that fat is 9 calories per gram, carbs and protein are 4. Thus, you can eat a larger amount if low fat food for the same amount of calories.
Also, there is no evidence that wheat free is any better then any other fad diet. FYI, gluten is wheat protein, so going gluten free = wheat free in most cases.”
MyrtleJune on Sep 10, 2013 at 02:56:31
“Um, no. There is absolute evidence wheat free is better and it's not a fad diet at all. gluten free does not equal wheat free. You need to do more homework F+”
Sep 9, 2013 at 07:56:58
“So your diet was at fault, not for the gluten, but for eating to many calories. Of course eating less dense carbs and more veggies will help with weight loss.”
MinnesotaRoots on Sep 9, 2013 at 13:42:24
“maybe. i still eat rice cakes and crackers.
also i dont really use dressings or marinades. no candy. wheat is often used as a filler. so im limited in what i can eat and drink. but now im eating less, and im making much healthier choices cause i have to.”
“It is more potent then real marj. Jwh18 completely binds to the canabinoid receptor, while the only partially binds.
Even so, I find it hard to believe people actually died from canabinoid receptor activating drugs, these receptors do not effect the Cns system like depressants do. Most likely whoever made these got a bad batch of raws from china”
“Well I can see you are not a very good consultant. Advising a company to break federal law, as you cannot fire an employee for picketing or trying to form a union. You can fire one if they miss work, publicly bash the company or otherwise break any laws.”
fivehole84 on Sep 6, 2013 at 06:52:10
“Its job abandonment. They are publicly bashing the company and they are also trying to interfere with Wal Marts day to day business.
And it was hyperbole. I wouldnt tell them to fire everyone and if I did, who would listen?”
“Yep because unions are a major factor in inflation, oh wait, they are not.”
JubalTHarshaw on Sep 6, 2013 at 06:59:13
“We don't have any inflation; just ask Obama and the Fed...”
jstice4ever on Sep 6, 2013 at 06:58:31
“they would be in the retail sector. the only way to meet the demands of unions in retail would be to drastically raise the costs of goods. unions in retail do not work, not in the form that the UFCW seems to want them to exist in. You cannot guarantee full time hours in an environment where consumer spending varies wildly throughout the year. they tried this before and many retailers went out of business as a result and the UFCW hasn't exactly changed their demands since the 70's.”
“Pure free markets do not exist. If they did, we would not have the entire field of brands marketing, consumers would have all proprietary information before making a purchase, and no one would be dishonest in business. The free market may be a great idea, but it has not and cannot exist given human nature.”
“And the bible says we should stone adulterers. Give all our money to the poor. and turn the other cheek when attacked. Do moderate Christians follows this?
There are billions of Muslims. Stop being afraid and start being tolerant.”
Paul Junior on Sep 4, 2013 at 13:47:19
“You are very confused... :) You are reaching beyond the time of Christ into ancient times that have been covered elsewhere on this thread... and "turning the other cheek" DOES have significance in setting a Christ-like example before others... but NOT to the extent of allowing EVIL forces to destroy our families and our homeland... !!! ALSO... The message pertaining to our "valuables" is that we should spend our time and money in performing charitable deeds... like assisting the widows and orphans and putting forth efforts to enlighten and encourage those who are "confused" on HuffPost... :)
BTW... there are only ONE billion muslims worldwide... and thus... through actually reading their "bible"... we need to be wary... NOT tolerant... !!!:)”
“I normally am all for all workers getting paid more. But This article is too much. The vast majority of well paid salary white collar employees work far more then 40 hour weeks. That is the point of salary pay, you get paid no matter what to get the job done, not just be there for x amount of hours.
The employee in question has skills, as she managed retails stores before. She has options to find another job, unlike many very low skilled min wage workers.”
“So Walmart is hiring people out of their own good will? We should thank the company for giving jobs to us unworthy Americans?
You seem to not understand the basics of business. A company always hires the least amount of workers needed to fulfill their business needs. A company pays such workers the lowest real wage the job market will support. A publicly traded company's pure purpose is to maximize shareholder value. By law, they must do this.
Now, the real question is should we have working poor? Should those who work make so little they cannot survive without assistance? Then should the government use tax dollars to help keep those working poor above water? Or should the government use laws to ensure those publicly traded companys who employ such workers pay them enough they do not need public assistance?”
maximus5757 on Aug 26, 2013 at 11:32:53
“You are being ridiculous! A company that offers entry level jobs to the unskilled is to be commended. Walmart cashiers, cart retrieval, door greeters and shelf stockers are not $15.00 an hour positions.”
maximus5757 on Aug 26, 2013 at 08:50:26
“How much would you pay entry level part-time workers such as shopping cart retrievers, door greeters, shelf stockers and cashiers. I don't believe any of these workers think they are at the end of their career path. When minimum wage was raised, it hurt the youth the most because many employers know like I do that some workers are late to work constantly, have poor work habits, are not very productive, need a lot of training and need constant supervision. These type workers and there are a lot of them are not worth paying more than minimum wage if that.”
“The problem is that the breed is not the issue. All large dogs have the potential to gravely hurt children. Why ban pit bulls when wolf hounds, rots, ect are much bigger and stronger? Simply because they are more popular”
