“The biggest takers are banks and big money. Its hard to feel sorry for people that deceived the nation and forced a bailout on the backs of working citizens. Its not that hard to identify the real takers. They're the ones who spend all their time pointing fingers while they run to the bank with the average citizens money. Shame on them. My father fought in WWII, worked his whole life and now has to be content with a social security check that doesnt reflect the actual cost of living. Not to mention cuts to his veteran benefits. Wrong is wrong and taking social security money is wrong.”

“As someone who lost a brother to a youth who self medicated with meth and
went on a three day jag which ended with him shooting my brother point blank
with a shot gun, I think we as parents must do more to demand help. The
system does not care how many tragedies will follow. We must get this
topic out in front where it belongs, we must tell our stories with the intent
to make a differene, in our world.”

“theres a simple explanation as to why teachers would suddenly be stripped of their basic rights, due process, speedy trial, trial by jury. etc. The reason is that public ed has been hijacked by big money. Eli Broad , Gates they are very interested in education. And not for the right reasons. They see huge corpporate takeovers vis a vie educational institutuiions. Heres hoping the teachers dont just go quietly into
the night but be brave and let the public know what's going on.”

NDAA Signed Into Law By Obama Despite Guantanamo Veto Threat, Indefinite Detention Provisions

Commented Jan 4, 2013 at 02:29:41 in Politics

“The passing of this law should have Americans out on the streets expressing
outrage at the complete and utter loss of our most sacred constituitonal
rights. We must have the conviction and courage necessary to reclaim
the democratic principles our country was founded on. Lincoln warned that
if we were to lose our democracy it would not be from an attack an external
force but from as result of a lack of internal determination and desire to fight
for freedom. Sadly, I think the passage of this act signals a clear cut decline
of the great democratic nation that was a beacon of hope for truth and freedom
globally. We must make our voices heard and realize that it is the government
of the people not over the people. There is no easy fix for restoring democracy
but we must have the courage to begin the process.”

“Freedom? Like freedom to love, marry, share with whoever you choose? Freedom to choose how your body/life is treated? The internal force attacking freedom is the TEA-wing of the GOP.”

Frank Luntz, GOP Pollster: The NRA Isn't Listening With Proposal For Armed Guards At Schools

Commented Dec 26, 2012 at 13:40:18 in Politics

“Do we really think more guns are the answer. These shooters arent defenders of our constitutional rights. They are disturbed individuals who are ignored until they have a psychotic break and go on a shooting rampage. The mother of the most recent shooting was a gun collector and enthusiast. Does it not fly in the face of this absurd argument by the nra that we need more guns.”

Ann Coulter Attacks Latinos In Column, As Conservatives Seek To Reach Out To Hispanic Voters

Commented Dec 16, 2012 at 12:20:08 in Latino Voices

“Statistically speaking the hands that are out asking for benefits, generation after generation, are not latino hands. The socieconmic history of the south dating to post civil war shows a sad steady generational class of poor people who struggle to survive because the south has never been able to come back from the outright raping and pillaging that occured there. Then after ww11 the govt brought families to oakland and s.central to create ghettos or barrios and never intended to infuse these areas with funding. They even place natives off the rez in Watts in the sixties in another brilliant plan. So if you want to look at immigrants that get ssi and ssa illegally you need to look at other groups who do come with info about how that system works and do milk it. Immigrants are composed of different groups varying in ethnicity , socio economics, history, religion, and having completely different group dynamics. Anyway, the real takers TAKE from the top and they have ruined our economy. This much is obvious. Nuff said”

snakeburt on Dec 16, 2012 at 13:06:11

“Is that what they are teaching you at Cal State LA? If so, it is a load of crap. You clearly know little about the south post Civil War. I grew up in South Carolina and was there from the late 50's on for long enough to go through the Civil Rights movement and even be mobbed by blacks against whites and the racial divide was very strong. Never was it said that blacks were relocated by the government and such a convenient action would have been voiced to quell the discord. It was black friends that came to my rescue from their own having attacked me as a teen because race was not my issue and we worked together. You are right about one thing though, a generation of hands are stretched out for "gimme's" and those hands may be mostly black among the many other hands of illegals from asia seen in Southern Cal. Latino's that refuse to learn the language are as much a blight on America as Asians that do the same, but the lack of a work ethic found in those contributing to build America is the missing link that proves evolution is a hoax.”

“I agree whole heartedly. If you look at what Deasy has done in the past he has worked directly or indirectly for billionaires like Broad and has been trained in the school of disempowering teachers and students. The false pretense of protecting students is very transparent. The public should be outraged that perfectly innocent people are having their careers ruined as the big money continues to march forward with their plan to privatize public ed. LA teachers need to stand up and unite and not wait for the union to save them.”

“The Truth about "teacher jails" is that it is a modern day witch hunt, its the huac trials or if one needs a clearer analogy its like locking up All Japanese Americans because some of them might be spies. Its disgusting unethical and the fact that teachers are held simply on allegations with no due process is unconstitutional. It is not difficult to see that this is simply a political ploy to try to prove that lausd and other very large districts should have the power to fire at will. It is clearly another tactic to allow big money to influence and control public education. One does not need a degree in public policy to see that this is a very carefullly planned move on the part of big money to continue to dismantle public ed. and disempower teachers. What if all politicians were held in "politician jail" because of the actions of a few. Certainly there are enough examples of politicians guilty of sexual abuse, misuse of power, misuse of funding that make it clear that they might all be guilty of the same crimes. Why dont we sit them in buildings and pay them to do nothing. Oh wait we already do.”

“Its widely know that Greece has a neo nazi group called Golden Dawn and that they are very powerful. More powerful than the police in some areas. This should be a wake up call for all of us. The fact that this young man did not understand the consequences which would befall him points to the fact that young people are joining supremecist groups around the world but especially in the U.S. They are also joining the U.S. military to get better urban war training in some cases. We need to be proactive in this arena.”
