“Wow. You must watch FOX 24 hours a day.
Deal with reality. The economy historically has been better under Democratic administrations than Republican.
The middle class has shrunk because of Republican policies (i.e. tax cuts for wealthy and corporate welfare).
Bush inherited a healthy economy and a surplus and handed over a massive deficit to Obama.
The economy has improved under Obama despite opposition from Republican Congress (some of whom oppose things they once endorsed) and despite Republicans who admit they are more interested in defeating Obama than helping the country.
The debt is primarily the result of the wars and the tax policies of the Republicans, not Democratic policies.
The people control the country, not countries. And the people can only speak through the government. Corporations are NOT people, as Romney believes, and should not set policy and control the government. They get to operate within a free enterprise system, but with boundaries.
These are all facts that you ignore.”

“I'm lucky to watch Fox for an hour or two PER WEEK!
Obamacession is reality. We are still suffering thru economic Obama-induced malaise for the past FIVE years.
Income inequality went up under Obama (a favorite point of DEMS)
Limbaugh does not speak for all GOP when he wants to see Obama defeated above nation first. (if he ever said such a thing).
Also think you misread that nonexistant sentiment from being misled by DailyKos.
The rest of your one sentences listing are simply untrue.
The economy could have improved FASTER under GOP.
And MORE jobs under GOP.
Obama ADDED MORE DEFICITS and DEBT than ALL PRESIDENTS in history combined.
We have a $17 Trillion dollar debt, we spend $3.5 Trillion every year, and we bring home only $2.5 Trillion.
To translate that into a family home, the dad brings home $25,000 a year, spends $35,000 a year, and has a credit card debt of $170,000. Next year in 2014 (a few months), it will be over $200,000 debt.
If you don't call that "broke", I got a bridge to sell you.”
“What gave you the idea that Democrats don't believe in free enterprise, other than being brainwashed by FOX. The difference is that Republicans sell out to corporate interests far more often, and Democrats want corporations to pay their fair share of taxes instead of being put on welfare. Sorry, you can't start two wars and cut taxes and not incur huge debt.”

“Punishing the golden goose that lays golden eggs of money, isn't going to make the goose lay more eggs for us. The opposite usually happens. Fewer eggs. Thus our spending vs. income goes even more out of whack.
If you want more free stuff to give away to Congressmen, to corporate & personal welfare recipients, the best way is to find a way to create MORE golden geese. And encourage more golden egg laying by REWARDING the producers.
Imagine what the possibilities are being able to afford all the DEM's wish list, if we as a nation were a ten or hundred times richer. Ie., our GNP instead of $15 Trillion, is now $150 Trillion, or $1,500 Trillion.
so our goal should be to encourage new business formation, new ideas, new entrepreneurs….those are the golden eggs and golden geese.
DEM government policy today actively discourages all of the above.
Thus, we will never enter into a DEM utopia.
Paradoxically, the only way to DEM utopia is THRU the GOP policy + ten years.

“I get that idea from what other DEM posters are saying here on HP.
From the high responses I got to my (this thread's) original post, apparently you're the only one who spoke up for free enterprise.
btw, it's not that the DEMS don't believe in free enterprise; they do, but that they believe it should be subservient to government.
(which really is, if you think about it, a slave to government master).
Ie., then free enterprise, isn't free, then is it?
It's slave enterprises.
And the whole point of Independence & Constitution is about making government slave to us, the people. Not making people slave to government.
Addressing your corporate interest topic:
The DEMS are cozy with corporate interests, ie., corporate welfare (Solyndra, Fisker, Farm, Corn, corn-ethanol, Wall Street)
while the GOP grassroots want to ban corporate welfare.
We are buying too much stuff (a gigantic Christmas List of wishes & "I wants") that Congress votes yes on. If we had unlimited money tree farms, where money just grows on trees, then heck yes, I'd support the DEMs.
But we live in reality, and we are not gods with magical powers. We can only generate a finite amount of money via work, and thusly we have to live within our budgets. If our income goes down (ie., Obamacession), we have to cut spending.
“How is he a socialist? If you mean health care, that's a Republican idea and the ultimate in capitalism, requiring people to purchase a health care plan from a source of their choosing. The stock market is up, employment rate improved. That's not socialism. Most people who call him socialist don't even know the definition of the word. What freedoms have you lost? What are his lies? Perhaps he hasn't fulfilled all his plans and promises, but have they been more frequent than Bush or Reagan lies? Does the ACA bother you more than Bush's wars?”
“Everyone with a brain knows the difference between their and they're.
What stories are you talking about? Still believe the one about Obama being born in Kenya? Or the one that he's a Muslim?”
vlvogrma2 on Oct 20, 2013 at 20:05:13
“No..just that he is a socialist...need proof...how about the freedoms he is trying to take from us...from our own medical health to spying on us...lying to us..excluding him & his followers from laws he has forced on the American people...enough for you?..I got a million more...you see I have proof not just saying some nonsense as you Libby's do & hoping the uninformed believe you..”
“If there is anyone alive to tell it? You mean you're afraid he'll start a war? No, he's still trying to clean up the Bush/Cheney messes, and he's proven he knows how to deal with international issues without starting a war.”
“Why didn't he include white people, too? Just another example of the double standard that has held this country back for so long. We're going to enslave you and then discriminate against you for decades and decades, and then wonder why you aren't just like us.”

“Why? because the problem is most serious in the black community. I know the obvious must be stated.”
“If it's a good idea on a state level, why isn't a good idea on a national level? You're also forgetting one simple thing: it's an idea initiated by Republicans. And many years ago, Nixon tried to institute a national health care plan. It wasn't until Democrats took up the cause that Republicans decided it was a bad idea, although the motives were different for each party.”
