Commented Dec 28, 2009 at 16:33:22 in Politics

“And the DEMS made this lousy bill, which will do nothing for us again! If we vote any of them back in office we deserve it!”

YankeeCanuck replied on Dec 28, 2009 at 17:10:53

“This bill is not the one they made. That one has been beaten down by the GOP and the running blue dogs.”

“OMG where do get this! Both parties are crooked and were a major disappointment over the years. It took both parties to ruin our country. We need to change and vote for a third party. That will send a powerful message,
nothing else will! They will not change, they will not put senseable rules in place, they have the money and they do as they please. The shock of losing out would put them back on earth again.”

manipulated ever since. We have proof now, otherwise we would have seen a fed flag before the collapse.”

The Economy Is On A "Sugar High" And Its Growth, Fueled By Government Intervention, Is "Unsustainable," According To Famed Investor

Commented Dec 28, 2009 at 14:23:51 in Business

“Question: Do we have two (2) economies. From where I stand everybody is down and out. Who are those people who are on a sugar high? Yes, I know congress belongs to them, they bailed their friends out to protect their investments. Let the little guy lose his retirement and pension, robbed social security to pay for the wars, 3 at that with a fourth one looming. And their lack of reining them in tells us a lot. When will they address the trillions of derivatives out there?”

Commented Dec 27, 2009 at 23:52:56 in Green

“CO2 is not necessarily a bad thing. The Vikings lived well in Greenland when it was green and not frozen over. Emission Trade is what it is and richer countries would stand to lose whereby poorer countries would stand to gain but all countries would have to be willing to take part in it. However, that is NOT cleaning up the earth but trading in derivatives and eventually will overtake the profitablity of oil.
Best thing is to get rid of their plan though they will try again in Mexico City, when they meet again.”

“Figure it out finally, they don't want alternative methods to get energy but they want more dollars!
If we had an energy shortage or crisis they would be open to new technology like the photosynthesis technology but the USA said NO right away. After all they have to have a certain dollar amount involved in it. One hour charge from the sun would give power to the whole globe for a whole year - there is no money in it. So please wise up, unless they stand to make globs of money they are against it but keep feeding us lies to further their agenda.”

“We have not suffered enough yet. People are still way too aloof. Some are party loyalists and there is no changing their minds, those are sheeples on both sides

“Finally someone who gets it. There is no left in America, there is only right and farther right in the Government. This has been proven by this debate. The Government has been bought off and could care less about the people. Until there is more awareness of this nothing will change. When someone has the integrity to stand up against the flow they are ridiculed by both the press and their peers. Look what they did to Ross Perot, and what they are trying to do to Grayson. America has to wake up!”

If you're on a watch list, you're treated like everyone else who files. Isn't that the most inane thing you've ever heard?? I've posted elsewhere the other options open to ensuring flying safety for those on a watch list. Why can't the US authorities get this right? Pitiful.”

The fact that the USA has over 269 billionaires and the next country to this only has 26 says a lot. But then, of course, the rich will be screaming again. How much does one need - why the greed? “Correct, Australia had 5% unemployment and it was full employment. Therefore, our
claim that we have 10% unemployment is a lie. 10% would not have the impact on the economy as we see now. Some states are approaching like 50%, especially now, during winter, look at the Northeast Coast, where the car manufacturers shut down, construction is impossible during this time of year, etc.”

StJames replied on Dec 26, 2009 at 19:41:55

“10.2% is not a lie, it simply doesn't take into account those who are no longer looking for work or are "under employed." The rate is something closer to 15+% when those are factored in. We were running below 5% unemployment before the recession...I remember thinking WOW, even people who don't want to work must be working! ;-)

What unfortunate states are experiencing 50% unemployment? Those states will be defaulting on their debt if that is true...so we are in for another round of Fed bailouts I guess.”
