“What editorial? Everone has formed an opinion on this terrible death of a child. mostley vigilanitism not just for the accused but for the jurors. This is wrong. I am thankful for trial by juries, not dictaors or tribunals with no due process or defense for the acccused. I do not presume to know from TV what realy happened. The jury made what they felt was the correct LEGAL decision. They correctley followed the law and made a decision. This MOB mentality must stop. The prosection did its job well, as did the defence that she is entitled to. The verdict is in. Lets move on and not become consumed with hatred and take the law into our own hands. This would not serve another childs death in any constructive way. A child died. Mourn her death as all childrens deaths with sorrow and tears, not hatred and violence.”
“I Have met with several women who are in prison. 90% are drug related crimes. It is a fact that men do the most violent horrific crimes. I am writing an essay on the psychogical profile of CA. Statisically women do not kill their children, unless deranged like Yates who drowned her children to send them to heaven. Even Wournos was a victim of rape and abuse before she killed. behind most evil acts commited by women have some man pulling the strings. I do not see a viable motive. If she did not want to be a mother her parents would have raised her however dissapointed in their daughters actions. Their was no insurance policy to gain, no reason to murder her own child. Something is rotten in Denmark and it is the Anthony family. As a parent I would never act like Casey did. I would be devasted, not dancing. The question is why? Why or how could she act this way? There is much more to this tragic story then we will ever know.”
“I agree but I hope you are wrong. the initial vote was 10-2 for the 1rst charge of murder. How in one day did they aquit her of ALL the felony charges? To suggest that they just wanted to go home after such a long trial I hope is not true. After months of being sequestered, whhen the moment to decides arives, what would two or three more days mean? How do you go from 10-2 for 1rst degree guilty of lying? I am reluctane to suggest this but: JURY TAMPERING? I know its sounds absurd and probabably is but I still cannot understand the quick verdict on ALL felony charges. Did the prosecution overreach? What if lying was not on the table, would they have reached another decision? My point is Double Jeapary is a right would must insure. The jury found her NG. We must respect the process and decision even if we do not like it.”
“What started as a clever, grafically perfect has morphed into something else entirerly. It played a role in revolutions around the world, changed several aspects of our lives and seems to be conduit for the planet. My concern with facebook, twitter, etc, is that people will treat what they read as news or truth. The NYT is struggling like other newspapers to stay afloat. This is a great and tragic loss. Will real journalism continue to exist? With our attention spans measure in kilobites, who will read an in depth report on corruption, Sudan, or womens rights abuses here and abroad? Can the scale and scope of Human trafficking be described in a paragraph? When news is being made and not reported, dire consequences will result.”
“What do you suggest? A public stoning like in Saudia Arabia or do you want to get a rope? This woman is seriously disturbed by the way she acted. As a parent I will NEVER understand her behavior. But, dancing is not a crime, unless I do it. She has served 3 years in solitary for her conviction of lying. The prosecution overeached since the evidence was mostley circumstantial. Cant we move on. Another tragic death will happen to a child and nancy, lacking grace will have a new forum to froth about.”

“read the editorial by the retired judge. Then get back to me on this.
And no, I don't mean stoning the woman - I mean preventing another child killer from walking because they are also skilled liars.”
“If SHRUB can become president, anything is possible. Unless Reagan is reincarnated the Republican fields looks like my beloved Cubs. Totally inept. Would love to see a Obama/Palin or Bachman debate. Should very entertaining election. Mr Obama in a landslide. Like the Cubs, they will finish far behind.”

“You have my sympathy indeed, a Mariners fan here.
In Seattle, we have All Pitch, No Hit. We are looking to set the MLB record for the most 1-0 losses in basball history.”
“You make a valid point. But to overturn the Double Jeopardy clause is wrong, which was my main point. I thought the jury would deliberate for at least 3 days. When they came in after only 9 hours I was certain a guilty verdict was comming. I know how difficult it must have been for the jurors being sequestured for so long but ONE day of debate? I dont know where this terrible, heartless mother is going to go or do with her live. Maybe move to Antartica? You have proven my point when you state the jury did not think it through. ONE day is not enough time to think it through. They must have reached a verdict before the trial ever ended.”
Catherine in Tulsa on Jul 15, 2011 at 12:32:35
“I completely agree. BUT, I think their verdict was "we've been here too long" and when they came back with a mixed jury, they quickly changed that to get out of there.”
“Your are right on all points. She was was found not-guilty in a short time by ajury of her peers. Although her behavior her child was missing is disturbing is does not prove guilt of the crime. Our 1rst amendment rights are under assault on many levels. An elderly women is humilated at an airport security stop, prisoners at guantano have never received due process or even charged with any crime, but being a suspect. The crime of homicide rightfully has no statute of limitations, eg, Emmitt Till and recently Mr. Bulger. But the double jeopardy clause is contitutionally gauaranteed. Why did the prosecution not replace lying to police with manslaughter involuntary or otherwise? The verdict may have been different and instead of being guilty of a misdeamenor it would have been a felony which wwould have lead to serious time in prison. The jury system is the best form for a trial. These threats of violence not just for casey, but for the jurors is deplorable. I disagree with your assement of a slam-duck case. It was 99% circumstational, never a slam-duck. As for justice for Caylee, a child dead for reasons we may never know, there can never be justice. A childs life ended and any verdict would never equal the loss of her or ANY child. Something happened but i do not know what. That is for juries to decide. And they did in only 8 hours. NG has become the voice of vigilanitism.”
Paul Mueller on Jul 12, 2011 at 20:44:16
“Did we watch the same trial? The smell in the car (who only casey drove) verified by multiple people AND forensic techniques. One of Caylee's hairs (ok, its a 99.9% chance its hers) with a "death band" on it found in the trunk. Duct tape on her face which they know came from the anthony home, and a laundry bag that was part of a set that was at the anthony home, AND a winnie the pooh blanket which is part of a set from the anthony home.
Whoever did this had access to: The House (Casey, George, Cindy) and the Car (Only Casey drove it!)
Cindy freaked when she finally found out and immediately called 911. Not her.
Not sure about Lee but if i remember right he was no where near that house that day
Then you have the defenses ridiculous George theory, which is the only other POSSIBLE scenario than Casey did it, and of which there is ZERO evidence.
Through this logical deduction, we can reasonably assume that either Casey or George or both were responsible (though we can't prove murder over manslaughter, but she was aquitted of that too) with 99% of the circumstantial evidence pointing straight to Casey and less than 1% at George.
THINK IT THROUGH. This is exactly what the jury didn't do. And you might be right that her behavior alone doesn't prove guilt but everything else in summation DOES beyond a reasonable doubt prove everything lesser than murder one.”
Catherine in Tulsa on Jul 12, 2011 at 19:18:19
“plain and simple: we don't need to know why she is dead. She is dead. And her mother celebrated that. That should never go unpunished again.”
William Wolf on Jul 12, 2011 at 19:03:03
“Not reporting a child missing is a crime in itself. It is neglect, and should be punishable. Doesnt mean they should be on trial for murder.”
“I agree that her behavior, lies and partying are not how any loving parent would act. But the jury found a reasonable doubt. I was surprised at the short time it took to reach a verdict in a largly circumstantial case. I am reminded of the movie/book " The Runaway Jury " Hackman says " Trials are too important to be left up to jurors " I would not want to be Casey Anthony for all the money in the world. She will have a huge financial debt, no privacy or semblance of a normal life. I hope that people accept the law and outcome and just leave her alone.”
“That is not what I said at all. I am for ALL victims of crimes wherever they occur. In the U.S. one out of 4 women are raped or abused. Those are reported cases, which means the figure is much higher. Homeland Security should focus on the horrors that exists behind the doors of our own women and children. Women who are raped or abused should NEVER be the one on trial, which is usually the case. Youl clearly mis-interpreted my comment.”
“Exactly right on all points. I do not know how another child died prematurely. I do know that hundreds of thousands of children in Darfur, Congo, and other places die without notice or outrage. After the verdict, decided by a jury, found her not-guilty, a MOB outside yelled for Casey. To do what with? Lynch her? What about those held in Guantanamo, held without formal charges or afforded the jurisprudence guaranteed by our constitution? The "Beautiful Life" that the mob asumes she will have is a lie. She for now is the most hated woman on the planet, untill the next horrible crime grabs our collective sick attention. The fact that her own parents left the courtroom in disgust speaks volumns to the lack of love Casey received. To the MOB and tabloids: She was tried and aquitted. Would anyone want to walk in her shoes even after her release? Fear not, soon another media frenzy will insue when another child dies. Why not shift your venom to Africa or the mid-east where horror is an everyday event.”
suspirianight on Jul 7, 2011 at 07:39:33
“So we should always ignore the horrors in our own back yard? Great idea.”
“I have sunk to a new low by posting on this terrible death of a child. Murder trials of a child should never be sensationalized or a ratings bonanza. Children in America are abused, killed or go missing at a horrific rate. In Darfur and the Congo hundreds of thasand children are rapped or killed. Where is the outrage over these victims? A jurt quickly found a reasonable doubt. After the verdict the PARENTS of the accused walk out in disgust. As a parent, if my son was aquittied of a possible death or life sentence, I would be down with him, embracing him, glad that a jury found him innocent. The Anthony's reaction speacks volumns to how they feel about there OWN daughter. Another child has died tragically. What life does Casey have now? The ability to dance? The MOB outside the courtroom chanted "We Want Casey". To do what? String up a rope? With the exception of GITMO, we have a system of jury trials. A jury found her not-guilty. Case closed.”
“Excellent. Is anyone surprised that he was found in Pakistan? SHRUB called Pakistan our ally against terror. They were dupicite and probably knew where he was the whole time. He was not in a cave but a mansion. Reality check: Pakistan is not our ally or friend.”
imtruthmonger on May 2, 2011 at 21:06:35
“We'll see about that. There is plenty of laundry to sort through before we're ready to wash everything that has Pakistan's name on it. No doubt there is corruption as we have our own brand here.
OBL is feeding hungry (but not particularly picky creatures) at the bottom of the Arabian Sea but there is a lot more intelligence to gather after Pakistan wipes the egg off their face and attempts to present itself for international scrutiny.”
“Excellent. As far as liberals or progressives in Texas, historically, I mean centuries ago, TX was a liberal state, despite being on the confederate side. LBJ without Vietnam could have been a " Contenda ". When was the last time you heard a president declare war on imperialist designs, but on poverty? Again as i keep repeating: WAR is the greatest obstacle to progress. I did an un-scientific survey and I discovered that Texas now has 183 progressives, wait, one just died recently so its 182.”
“As much as I dis-liked Shrub, he stated that he was for the creation of a Palesinian state. Until this happens the sensless violence, mostly experianced by innocent civilians on BOTH sides will not end. BOTH sides must recognize the other ones right to exist. The expansion of settlements in the West Bank does not help anymore than extreamists calling for the destruction of Israel. Peace can be acheived, e.g. the Camp David agreement which has held for over 40 years. The U.S. duplicity must be questioned. Why do we still have forces in Saudia Arabia, Europe, etc, etc,? This does not help, but hinders the peace process. If we can learn anything from the former Soviet Union is that a war in Afganhistan is un-winnable and futile. In the midst of budget cuts to teachers and needed social progams why is the military un-touchable? It is past time for us to pull out of places we should not be or should have never been.”
“The root cause of most wars today are not just stagegic, economic, or political, but based on religious intolerance. You can use the Bible, the Koran, or most religious texts into a basis for peace and love or for hatred and violence. Unfortunately we seem to be choosing the latter.”
“Sorry but the president was busy looking at the horrific damage done from the storms in the south, but I guess he should have dropped that and sat with Elton John at the stupid wedding of rich people.”
“Why dont we just return to the good old days of czars and kings? Dont we all miss Czar Nick, Ivan the terrible, the Shah of Iran? Dont we all secretly miss public be-headings and stonings? Bring back the guillotine! Stalin, Pinochet, Noriega, and of course my favorite Emelda Marcos. Those shoes would make the Sex and the City cast drool with envy. If any woman is waiting for her knight in shinning armour, sorry, he has been laid off and had to sell his suit on E-bay. Royalty defines the Birther issue. You do not start in the mailroom and work your way up to being king. You just happened to be lucky to have been born to two frigid people looking for an heir.”
“The Donald will do anything for publicity. From his pompadour to his pompous remarks his must be a decendent of PT Barnum. If a guy who ran several companies into the ground, recycles wives like uber-environmentalists, gleefully fires people on TV, thinks he is qualified to be anything other just being The Don then he is mistaken. Just being The Don is a full time job. Charlie Sheen as VP would balance the ticket and bring in the young, idiotic vote. Obama will be re-elected. get used to it. Now that the Birther issue has failed, they are questioning his grades in college! I know his intellect will never match Shrubs, but I think he is a pretty smart guy.”
“UUggh, Isnt this what we fought the revolution for? Doesnt the constition divide power into three branches to avoid this kind of Royalty? Practiced by a huge number of people? What yacht are you writing on? Give me a wedding of two drunk atheists in Vegas over this nauseating spectacle. Now that would be entertainment. As for being the Head of the Church Of England, all the more reason for my revulsion. Talk about a dysfuntional family! They make the Manson Family look like the Cleavors. The Queen seems like such a sweet woman. I wouldnt want her as my grandmother. Everytime I ask for $100,000.00 to go shopping, I get " The Lecture " first about public appearance. just give me the money grandma and go walk your dogs.”

“Uuggh, Isnt what our revoution overthrew? This is Reality TV in its worst form. Talk about a dysfuntional family? They make the Manson Family look like the Cleavers. As for being the head of the Church of England only ads to my revulsion. Show my a couple of drunk atheists getting married in Vegas on a whim, now thats entertainment!”
“Finally that consiracy is cleared up, except to the Dons satisfaction. The more relevant question should be: Is Hawaii realy a state? lets face it its a vacation spot not even part of the continental U.S. Its a place to surf and drink pina coladas. If we wanted a Hawaian President we could have elected Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.”
TheKurgan on Apr 29, 2011 at 23:17:30

Of course, Brian was born in Inglewood CA and never even surfed...
But, what go with Facts, when the birthers don't!”
