One Calabasas parent wrote a letter to the Acorn suggesting that teachers should work without pay for some time because they were already making $60,000 a year. As if any teacher could afford to live in Calabasas on that salary.”

“In California, the War on Drugs has resulted in a 30% drop in the murder rate in LA and also a big drop in gang activity. Of course, our prisons are overloaded and we are paying a big price to keep drug criminals (often sellers, not users) locked up.

“Just think how much better it would be if drugs were decriminalized. Most would be available legally via treatment/maintenance programs.
