Ayalis Clay Oliver: 76-Year Old Accused Of Killing Son On Thanksgiving Over Household Chores

Commented Nov 28, 2009 at 20:28:25 in Denver

“Except that this happened in El Paso and the story states that the son lives in Colorado. I got the impression that the son was visiting for Thanksgiving, not that he lives at home and expects his mother to take care of him.”

“Okay, how old is this story? It states that the husband was cleared in January. How long does it take Swedish police to determine moose hair and saliva?”

FirstBiteBooks replied on Nov 28, 2009 at 20:57:18

“The police couldn't accept the fact that a 63 year old woman was desired by a moose.”

Polanski's Release From Prison

“"Nothing will repair the days he has spent in prison..."

No repair necessary. He was guilty. He just needs to spend a whole lot MORE time in prison.”

“As the technology changes, the excuses have changed. I don't get any "dog ate my homework" anymore. What I get now is "My little brother logged on and clicked through that assignment. I didn't look at it, I swear. Can I please have it reset?"”

“Do you rely on technology to cook your food? Do you have a programmable oven and microwave? Don't you feel lacking because you don't cook all of your food in a wood stove using wood that you chopped yourself?”

HBHB replied on Nov 28, 2009 at 15:14:13

“No, I actually don't have a programmable oven nor a microwave. And even if I did, I wouldn't carry my microwave around with me every where I go. You're missing my entire point.”

“The story clearly stated that teachers group kids together so that kids who don't have cell phones will be a part of this method of instructing and learning. I teach online classes. Some kids don't participate because they don't have computers. Those kids can log on at a public library. Teachers should use every technology available to them.”

MojoWorking replied on Nov 28, 2009 at 17:17:15

“As usual - many posters only read the headline - or read the story with their political filters on.

Facts only get in the way

Technology will either save us or be our demise. The current generation of teens are steeped in it as will the students who are using computers in 1st grade this school year.

Sounds like a great movie -- I enjoy watching the show everyday I work with hard working teachers and students.”

“My teachers always told me not to believe anything anyone says if they say "always" or "never." But I will address what I think is your point. Actually, fanatic Muslims do scare me. My son is in Iraq on his fourth tour in the ME and I fear those scary individuals very much. The Jews who are settling the West Bank scare me. Not all Jews. My grandfather was not scary at all. The C-Street Brotherhood scares me the most because they actually have power over me. I don't fear Mormons, Baptists, Hindus, or Catholics. I don't hate all religious people. I'm not very religious myself, but I believe in everyone's right to worship whatever they want.”
