Why Joe Biden Should Resign
Commented Oct 15, 2009 at 11:56:34 in World
“Whoa! I don't believe "pulling a Palin" is what she had in mind...
How many books have come out in the last 5 years involving anyone from the Bush administration where the subject claimed a "deep opposition" to something that someone did - yet didn't really DO anything about it? What good does it do to find out years later someone held such deep reservations yet was still able to get up and collect a paycheck?
I've already said I'm not sure that I agree with her 100% on this - but I understand why she's saying it.”

“***It's a paradox that has never been successful in the history of American politics.* **
I can't say I remember a time when something like that has ever even HAPPENED before - and I thought that was the whole point of her piece. Why wait for the memoirs for all of the handwringing and righteous indignation to come out over ANY issue LONG after such actions are helpful!
I can't say I completely agree with her on this - but I DO see where she's coming from.”

If we could insist private insurers lower costs as WELL AS stop denying people for pre existing conditions I'd be on board with that.”

“And of those born (like my partners sister) with diabetes? She pays out the @#$ for insurance because of her pre-existing condition. ..it's BS!
Of course a healthier lifestyle is optimal - but that only takes care of so much in how people use their coverage. I guess I will forever be amazed at how many people will claim in one breath that we were founded on Christian values while in the next breath making sure to state they don't want to take care of "no deadbeats!!" "I gots mine - sc.rew you!"”

“I would just like to point out that you cannot opt out of Social Security or Medicare as far as i know. If that was the case I believe many would rather keep their money. I appreciate everyones input if they know differently.
I am also confused by the the thought that because the public option is only 600 billion it is fiscally conservative? Why not mandate private insurers provide a lower cost? Why do we have to spend money we do not have to pay for this? I was against the Bush deficits, I am against the Obama Deficits. I wish we would stop fighting all over the world, stop meddling in private citizens lives and let be.”

How many more studies do we NEED before we can collectively pull our heads out of our backsides and realize criminalizing anyone for possessing weed is just stupid?”

“I work for mine as well - but I pray I never get seriously ill because I can't afford the ridiculous medical bills that will undoubtedly rack up if something unexpected happened.. .assuming of course my insurance company decides to even COVER me for whatever malady may arise in the future.
I had a small procedure last year and I *still* have at least one bill left from the over half dozen that flooded my mailbox after it was all over. *I'm* tired of paying into a system designed to make cr@ploads of money while finding new ways to DENY paying for services I need.”

“I wondered as well....in a perfect world, what *would* be my in-laws (gf's parents) were in town for a few days and are *STAUNCH* conservatives. My girlfriends mother STILL supports Palin for the 2012 nomination! She can't be reasoned with, so we spent most of the time making jokes about Palin. She even repeats all of these tired points about how harsh the media was to her over Obama...di dn't matter how many times we pointed out that SHE was the first to make the statement that women should be able to handle the press or they couldn't handle the JOB (I STILL laugh about that one...) or SHOW her all of the harsh criticisms Obama took during the race - I'm tempted to call her tonight and ask her what she thinks.... but I can already hear the replay..." Oh, she's just getting herself ready for 2012!"
