Another new book by famed To Kill a Mockingbird author Harper Lee has recently surfaced, titled Young Atticus Finch and the Super Hot Vampire Society. "Ms. Lee--or, as her family and friends call her, Ms. Lee--wanted to try her hand at a novel that would appeal more directly to younger audiences," says Colton LaFenrois, a publicist for Random Del Collins House. "We're unsure if she wrote it before or after Mockingbird and Go Set a Watchman, but the manuscript was discovered in an old mattress of Ms. Lee's with a note that read, 'If you find this, please, dear God, never, ever, ever think of publishing it.' We took this as a sign to publish it."

The novel was intended to be the first in a series which would follow the exciting adventures of Atticus Finch and the extremely good-looking undead creatures he encounters while serving an apprenticeship at a Montgomery law office. Below is an excerpt of Atticus meeting the vampire daughter of a prominent attorney for the first time:

As I buried myself in the Alabama Law Journal, a voice said, "Anything interesting in those pages, Mr. Finch?"

I looked up and there was Olivia, her black eyes focused on mine. She smiled warmly.

"I'm Olivia," she said.

"I know who you are. I didn't think you knew who I was," I replied.

She sat next to me and closed the journal. I was transfixed by her flawless skin.

"Oh, I know you, Mr. Atticus Finch," she said with a casual twist. "Of course, you never really know a person until you consider things from his point of view...until you climb into his skin, suck the life force out of human beings, and embrace immortality with an army of your fellow demons. Oops. Did I say too much?"

Sources report Ms. Lee may have also been working on a second series of novels that involve a sixteen-year old Scout fighting other teens in a dystopian future. "This one also had vampires," says literary scholar Rebecca Belathopy. "Apparently, Ms. Lee just really likes vampires."
