So, I hear "it's been 102 years since both the Chicago Cubs and White Sox have made it to the playoffs"- and Chicago is going nuts with the best case of pennant fever!
Since I love to travel, and use any excuse to do so- I thought, why not travel to see a pennant that is this spectacular!
Even thought it starts tonight- Oct. 1st- they are guaranteed a three game play. So, there is still time to hop that plane and head to the windy city.
Plus, Chicago is so much fun to celebrate in.
There is nothing like going to a game, grungy stadium and all, with thousands of sweaty fans and all the hoopla. But, there is nothing like heading back to my cushy crash pad to enjoy my bubble baths with Champagne.
Where else better to do this than Chicago's Four Seasons? They have put together a luxe Pennant Push Package and specialty cocktails for sports fans. luxurious accommodations, beer, peanuts, crackerjacks served by room service, poster boards and markers to make signs to take to the game, a limousine ride to and from the ballpark (if you're looking to show up in style), 2008 Cubs or White Sox division champion t-shirt, and a post-game toast or commiserative cocktail in their Seasons Bar. Yummo- I can either choose the Sweet Lou- a lemonade type mix of vodka, Chambord, and lime vodka, or take it down with the Southsider- it's a Chicago classic with gin, mint and lime. Choices, choices.
Didn't get tickets for the game? There are plenty of places to watch it Chicago-style. Check out Harry Caray's Steakhouse- Harry, being the former announcer for the Cubs in the 80's, and don't miss out on Hubbard Street's raucous and fun sports bar- Hub 51, or if you prefer a relaxed and chill atmosphere- Sedgwick's Bar and Grill in Old Town, and let's not forget about Mike Ditka's Restaurant, where Da' Coach" is in the restaurant most evenings, greeting and acknowledging his many sports loving fans and customers.
