I would not have not paid as much attention to this international press tidbit, nor believed it if it wasn't for my French Dr. calling with an amazing story such as this- But uv cors mon French friend was very interested and most curious about the recent sale of the French Riviera home called the Villa Leopolda, built by King Leopold II of Belgium in 1902. It was recently purchased by a hot shot Russian mega-billionaire oligarch- Roman Abramovich for $750 million, or so it is rumored.

I am told he overpaid far above the asking price.

Also, let me note- he is 42, I hear- if the rumors are true as to who actually bought the property, and he who hath moola, loves women. Shocker. Really now.

Call me crazy- but is there anything worth $750 million? Maybe I just don't know where to shop!

Seriously- I think of all those starving kids, homeless families, helpless animals, and know there is money better spent than on overpaying for a ego-induced home sale.

Of course- in the high-end real estate markets- money moguls are all trying to out do each other- from jets to yachts to who's on who's arm candy, and of course property in any form, real estate as one piece of the pie.

In fact, during my numerous St. Barts trips, there never failed to be an entertaining event or two on a beach everyone called "dick beach"- right in front of Nikki Beach Restaurant. We used to laugh at all the fat-over ego-cigar smoking- over aged playboys darning Vilebrequin swim trunks, standing, parading, pointing at their mega-yachts, comparing and contrasting whose was better and trying to out do each other.

Frightening. I know- fat-over ego-cigar smoking- over aged playboys in Vilebrequin! Ha!

You know what I think about this... large ego, small pe... oh just don't make me say it! You all know where I am going with this.

I am sure he is a very nice person. Heh.

Have a great weekend everyone.
