If you're out West this summer or looking for a destination adventure, this might be for you: Wanderlust is a music festival/yoga retreat that will have its inaugural run this July, high up in the mountains of Lake Tahoe.
Split between two main locations in Squaw Valley, CA, festivalgoers can participate in three days of yoga sessions with world-renowned yogis like John Friend and Shiva Rea while surrounded by incredible mountain vistas. Daytime fun also includes ubiquitous music in Kula Village, the central event grounds, where there will be two stages, a variety of restaurants, and a Farmers market selling organic, local food.
In the afternoon, the party migrates to 8200 feet via gondola ride. The music lineup features performances by top-notch artists like Michael Franti, Jenny Lewis, Andrew Bird, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Spoon and Gillian Welch at the Gold Coast Stage - a natural amphitheater formed from a sloping-bowl rock formation in the side of the mountain.
After hours, the revelry continues back at base camp, where according to the website, one should "expect the village to transform into an all-out bacchanal, with burlesque fire-dancing, acrobatics and late night music sets by top artists and DJs", thereby dispelling any rumors that yogis don't know how to party.
Wanderlust takes place from July 24th-26th. Tickets for the festival range from $124.90 for just music, $169.50 for three days of music and yoga, up to $1249.50 for VIP /spa access passes if you're feeling extra spiritual.
