Quadruple Yourself

The DCCC-- that's the committee, run by Rahm Emmanuel, that works to help the Dems win back the House (and to re-elect all Dem incumbents)-- has a weekend special running, it seems: contribute now and the House leadership will match you three-to-one. Assuming they mean your $10 makes them give $30 (rather than your $10 making them give $3.33), it's a very good time to throw them your spare change, if you might be so inclined.

New polls have Dems ahead or within striking distance in unlikely places once again-- e.g. Wyoming. And though complacency in politics is always a bad thing, with Melissa Bean in Illinois polling big leads, it looks like the Dem side of the House has maybe three endangered incumbents: has anyone else polled Indianapolis lately?

As for post-election reading material: man, I can't wait for this book of poems.
