Bush Lies, Again

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Today George Bush stated that the suicide bombers of Baghdad have much in common with the terrorists who attacked the United States. People who read know that's not actually true. That most of the attacks in Iraq come from an insurgency resisting an occupation or are part of a broader sectarian civil war. This is in stark contrast to those united in "turning back the advance of freedom, (to) impose a dark vision of tyranny and terror across the world."

At this point nobody believes that whatever is left of Iraq after America is done destroying it will look anything like a Democracy. Which is too bad. We could have gotten a lot more value for our 300 billion dollars.

Bush's best quote highlighting the President at his lying worst came when he said the attack on 9/11 brought the United States "a war we didn't ask for, but a war we must wage, and a war we will win." Are we still talking about Iraq and all those Iraqi participants in the 9/11 attacks? Or is he mistaking Iraq with Saudi Arabia?

If we were in fact trying to fight the sponsors of the 9/11 attacks we would be focusing more effort in Afghanistan abroad and energy independence at home. But we're not. 9/11 was reduced to talking points a long time ago by this administration. The shame is ours.
