Joe Garcia's Slick Slam of the Diaz-Balart Brothers

I really, really like this Joe Garcia political ad.

Democrat Joe Garcia, himself a former and now reformed chief spear-carrier of the Cuban American National Foundation, is challenging Mario Diaz-Balart for Florida's 25th district -- and he's making huge inroads.

Diaz-Balart has built a large political franchise out of anti-Castroism and blocked any common sense progress in US-Cuba relations. It's time for that to change.

Gotta echo the responses to this post--FANTASTIC ad, and I believe that it reflects the feelings of many South Floridians of ALL ethnic backgrounds who are sick and tired of the one-trick ponies, namely the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. I live in Lincoln Diaz-Balart's district and this year, he really has to run for his congressional seat. His opponent is a very popular former mayor of Hialeah, who happens to be Cuban-American (like Joe Garcia). Not that I would ever consider voting for Diaz-Balart, but after his extremely classless move of calling for a congressional vote during the memorial service for Tom Lantos, it would be a very cold day in hell before any thinking resident of this district should consider voting for him!

I am a born and raised South Floridian. I lived in Lincoln's district for 35 years. I can't tell you how fantastic this ad is and how powerful it will be. They need to get rid of the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. They are only concerned with cuban issues and could care less about the non-cubans in their districts.

Bravo. I detested the Cuban American Nat'l Foundation for decades as it led the way in corrupting America's political process...but now at least it has produced its ex-CEO Joe Garcia who seems capable of being objective about the horrific harm the Old Guard in Miami have caused their fellow Cubans in Cuba. People like Cong. Diaz-Balart and Cong. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen supported terrorism against Cuba for years; and now they are ignoring the pleas of Miami Cubans who simply want access to their families back in Cuba. They are on the wrong side of history. They intransigently transfer their support to any right wing foreign policy initiative in Congress and are especially damaging on Iraq policy.
