Cross your fingers. Italy goes to the polls this weekend, and the junior partner of the "Killer B's" (Bush & Blair & Berlusconi) that launched an illegitimate war on Iraq seems to be trailing in a close race.
The bonus: if Berlusconi's opponents, Romano Prodi & The Union coalition, win the most seats, Prodi has promised to take Italian troops out of Iraq "as soon as possible".
The Economist weighed in: "Basta. Time for Italy to sack Berlusconi".
Couldn't have said it better myself...
[FYI, Politics Online has a piece on internet campaigning in Italy.]
