Make an Effort

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Make An Effort is a campaign for The UnConvention (www.theunconvention.com) designed by Minneapolis advertising agency, Campbell Mithun, to encourage Twin Cities residents to find their own unconventional ways to welcome the visitors who arrived for the Republican National Convention this past week. The campaign does not ignore the undeniable irony of the Republicans' choice to hold the convention here in Minnesota, and the entire tone of the campaign captures the unique brand of intelligent, rewarding creativity that Minnesota is justifiably world famous for.

View the videos on The Unconvention's website or download any of the 6 posters, feel free to send them to friends, colleagues, whomever you choose. Hang them up in your office, post them on your Facebook page. The Republicans are coming! Make an effort (and show your sense of humor too!)

loved the one ad with the couples kissing. now that is some funny stuff. but it brings up a point that has always baffled me. how does anyone ever trust, vote for, side with or expect those with ultra conservative dogmatic religious ideology to bring "change" to america. history has shown that such an ideology is NEVER on the right side. for instance on the idea of social equality. it was those with this ideology that stood in the way of women's equality. Oops, our bad don't we look kind of foolish now. It was their ideology that stood in the way of black's equality. Oops. Our bad don't we look kind of foolish again. But i bet they're right about homosexuality? It is the same for almost every topic. Environment. Yes, good job conservatives it is 2008 and you just now believe in global warming ... if only we had known sooner, like if some pulbic figure of influence who had been trying to educate people about it and change things since the late 70s had made us aware, or better yet run for high political office (Ahem, Al Gore). Foreign Policy? because the ideas of unilateral exportation of 'democratic' ideological imperialism and interference has worked out so well (Vietnam, Middle-East). didn't i read somewhere that even our democracy started when the French came sailing over the Atlantic, guns a blazing, killing British governors and forcing fractious sparring colonies together and declaring unilateral democracy? Americans get what they deserve.
