Bill O'Reilly who "doesn't have a dog in this race" unyieldingly scoffs at John Edward's candidacy, mocking the fact that Edwards is "funnier than Rodney Dangerfield" because he speaks of "200,000 veterans who go to sleep on grates and under bridges." BO obviously could care less about veterans, if he even knows what or who as is. As he said on his Radio Factor today (1/16), there are only about 750,000 veterans all told.
If Bill cares about veterans or giving the Folks the actual news he says he does, perhaps Bill might have his cracked research staff take a look at the Veteran's Affairs numbers where they estimate approximately 200,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.
Bill O'Reilly or John Edwards?
Who do you think cares more about the veteran?

I am commenting here because I am disgusted, not with this post or even Bill O'Rielly. I am disgusted with NBC and the mainstream media for pretending that Edwards doesn't exist. Watching the NBC news broadcast tonight. (the 16th) you only heard Edwards say one word "Nevada" it was the last story about pronouncing the word. I am disgusted because I am getting the same feeling I got in Jan and Feb of 2003. The MSM were marching us to war. They are now marching us to a McCain presidency. Disgusting.
I am becoming more hopeful of an Edwards' presidency. His message seems to be getting out now; not nearly as much as it should but somewhat.
I cant believe that ANY middle class person would vote for anyone other than John Edwards. Its just plain stupid to vote for someone who will preserve the status quo as obama and hilary will do John Edwards is the only candidate who cares about us. We must give him more support if we want him to fight for us and turn our country around so that it once again follows the rule of law and is respected again.
obama and hilary are just corporate shills who will give us more of the same shit that prez fucksupalot and the evil one has given and will continue to give us as long as they are in office.
Bill O'Reilly and all the other Fox Noise Republican lackeys are a joke. Why anyone watches or listens to such blatant disinformation and lies will always be beyond my comprehension.
It's pathetic to report on anything this proven liar and amoral hypocritical twit says. He's an administration sycophant, who incompetently feigns having independent thoughts or ideas.
O'Reilly is out of his mind and I can't believe he still has a show. He needs to be evaluated by a good psychiatrist. This completely callous statement coming on the heels of his assault on an Obama supporter and his subsequent campaign on the air about how everyone should find his assault acceptable as he was asserting his first amendment rights. He is a nutjob. As an avid Edwards supporter, I am glad that he brought the issue up in the debate, despite the debaters insistence on focusing on race/gender issues. Go Johnny Go!
Well, TimmySlagle. Suppose for a minute the number of homeless is 100,000 give or take a hundred thousand who are sleeping in mom's house, a shelter, a friend's bed, whatever! Does this mean we turn our back simply because the number isn't as accurate as reported. Suppose it is only two people, you and a comrade who had pissed off their family and friends because they weren't in sync with your O'Reilly view. Should we give up fighting to get you the benefits you deserve, the benefits O"Reilly wishes you didn't have? Quit shooting your statistical mouth off and do something positive for a Vet, homeless or not.
Honestly, I don't care if the statistics are inflated. There shouldn't be ONE homeless veteran in this country. After all our veterans have done for this country, shouldn't we at least guarantee that they will have a bed to sleep in for life? The idea that a military salary and limited veteran's benefits are enough is preposterous. O'Reilly should (but never will) be ashamed.
Isn't it ironic - the degree to which so many of the same voices that trumpet "supporting the troops" seek so hard to keep the truth of the Edwards message from seeping out: that America is better than this and that we must be patriotic about more than war.
Bill O'Reilly is a blight and pestilence and in no small measure - from his bizarre telling of the WWII events at Malmedy to flushing modern reality down a memory hole - is personally responsible for the less than honorable treatment of a significant segment of our troops.
Bill heard Veteran's Affairs and had no further comment
Where would Bill O'Reilly ever see a homeless veteran and how would be know anything about veterans to begin with? He needs to stop stalking candidates and do a little real reporting.
Actually the article claims: " LESS than 200,000 veterans may be homeless on any given night" (emphasis mine).
And "Homeless" doesn't mean they're "sleep[ing] on grates, and under bridges." A lot of them are in their parents basements, or crashing on a buddies couch.
There is a long history of homelessness advocates inflating statistics
