Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) announcement today that she planned to re-register as a Democrat, has sent the Democratic leadership into crisis mode
"Arlen Specter was one thing," said Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-Nev). "Having Bachmann on our side has me thinking of going Libertarian."
Bachmann, who's been known to challenge sanity said she "saw the writing on the wall," literally.
"When I woke up this morning I found that someone had scrawled, 'Arlen makes a lot of sense,' on my bedroom wall and it looked a lot like Mitch's (Senate Minority Leader McConnell) handwriting."
While McConnell (R-Ky) wouldn't confirm the scrawling, he did say that losing Bachmann is the least of his worries.
"With Norm [Coleman] losing to Franken, Arlen going turncoat and only 21% of people polled identifying themselves as Republicans, I was thinking of heading over there myself," said McConnell. "Michele has always danced to her own song. Unfortunately, the song is 'They're Coming To Take Me Away'."
Bachmann, who has been known to get her facts somewhat inaccurate, yesterday linked the Swine Flu to the Democratic Party saying the last time we dealt with a similar outbreak was during Jimmy Carter's term. When reminded that it was not under Carter, but during Ford, Bachmann wouldn't be swayed "Carter was a real president, Harrison Ford only played one."
"Even I'm having a hard time not cracking up when I have her on," said Sean Hannity. "The woman is such a nut I'm surprised some squirrel hasn't already whisked her away."
"But I tellya," Hannity added.
Bachmann said she's making the move because she was wary of the competition she might face in her reelection campaign.
"Arlen made it very clear that winning in Pennsylvania would be a struggle, and being that I'm not even from Pennsylvania, reelection would even be harder for me."
"We're telling Congresswoman Bachmann that we already has maxed out the number of Democrats allowed," said Democratic Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi. "If that doesn't work we're just going to bolt the door."
In other political news, Republican senators and Congressmen are reported to be convening at a Virgina location where Minority Whip John Boehner (R,Ohio) will be dispensing juice cups for a ritual party suicide.

The real question is - how did Mitch McConnell get into Bachmann's bedroom to scrawl this frightening missive? Where are the tabloids when we need them?
Funny satire. I love Colbert and can tell the difference.
To wit…
Satire is yet a form of comedy - and in the verbal irony used in stand-up - a huge part of what makes us laugh at the absurdities of life.
G.
Please clearly label satire and comedy - it's misleading and a poor service to not do so - if I had known this was merely satire I wouldn't have wasted time reading reading it - Fox does enough spreading lies - it's clear people can't recognize reality and truth - so I am not happy about this blog at all.
What a waste of time...

Political pages have a blue banner and are labled politics.
Dont get p is sy cause you missed the big red banner and didnt get the joke.
Bachmann and Palin have gotta be twins. I swear to God they are certainly made out of the same stuff. I know their churches are exactly the same. It's almost unbelievable that either of these women were voted into anything, much less both of them. Freaks, I tell you. I used to be a conservative. What was I thinking? These two women embarrass the whole female population. Except maybe the conservative right, but at this point they don't count. I guess I should just thank God that I can laugh often because of them.
As Sarah Palin would say... "Thanks, But No Thanks"
Palin has never said "no thanks" to anything. If it isn't bolted down, her crew colors it gone.
Bachmann brings to mind some of the lyrics of an old Elvis song.
The song is "Mean Woman Blues"
Here are some of the lyrics-
I got a woman,
Mean as she can be,
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me
A black cat up and died of fright
'Cause she crossed his path last night
Oh I got a woman mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me
The strangest gal I ever had
Never happy unless she's mad
I got a woman
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me
LMAO - very funny stuff, Steve. Thanks for the morning pick me up.
"Michele has always danced to her own song. Unfortunately, the song is 'They're Coming To Take Me Away'." McConnell (R-Ky)
"Having Bachmann on our side has me thinking of going Libertarian." Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-Nev)
Now; I can only imagine what a bunch of "Republicans in the closet" will be able to do for blocking each project bill on the Senate floor! This is smelling more and more like "an inside job" strategy from the Republican Party! Duh!
Is this story real? o/!
Come on folks... Tell me this is a joke. A late April Fool's prank?
Even if it isn't, I'm laughing anyway. There is no person or situation that could be any more transparent than this... if true. Then again, Obama did say he wanted more transparency.
o/! X^D
If Bachmann comes to the Democrats, I'll move to the Independents.
Already there, and getting a barricade ready just in case she tries to come here.
Did Arlen Specter just set a new trend? Sorry Bachmann I would be too embarrassed to have you on the team.
Quick! Turn off the lights and be quiet! If we pretend we're not home, maybe she'll just go away!
LOL...oh, sorry for shouting! hehe
Nancy you can call me if you need help bolting down the doors and windows too. Washington DC is just a 2 hour drive for me.
I was reading this blog today (link below) and I could not believe how many conservatives are blaming the Dems for laughing at the scary and sad affect Michelle Bachman is having on her district. They are angry at us and are so serious about it, they use it as a reason for now joining with the Dems on anything. Apparently we should be showing sympathy to her constituents? Unbelievable! We are responsible for every problem in the country!
http://www.mnprogressiveproject.com/diary/3050/maybe-michelle-bachmann-isnt-crazy-after-all
Thanks for the link. It is eye opening, and of course total BS. Few democrats laugh off Michelle Bachmann. Fewer still want her to remain in power so her hate can drive more people to our side. We have seen her type before and we know she is dangerous.
As for blaming democrats for the woes of her constituents, that's a little silly too. Bachmann didn't win reelection because we hoped she'd win. She won because the sixth Distrct voted for her. That was after she called for investigations of congressmen for being anti-American, so it was well-known that she was a McCarthy-esque wingnut.
If you believe in country first, you could never hope for Michelle Bachman to win. I was just surprised at how they can blame us no matter what the problem. It's really quite amazing.
I am going to send her some Kool Aid.....
Maybe we should ALL send her some!
I will send her tooty frooty kool aid.
Unfortunately, Kool Aid will not make it through the Capitol Hill mail screening process.
Instead, tape a picture of Kool Aid to a post card, and mail that.
"Arlen made it very clear that winning in Pennsylvania would be a struggle, and being that I'm not even from Pennsylvania, reelection would even be harder for me."
That is the best part of the article to me. I don't know whay.
That part was hilarious!!!!!!!
I cannot understand how this woman got re-elected. I just can't solve that puzzle...........
It was those darn Diebold electronic voting machines with a defective memory card and no paper trail.
we better get cracking - the 2010 elections are just around the corner.
She got elected in much the same way McCarthyism and Hitler happened. She whipped up the crowds with nationalism by saying Obama was anti-American.
There's almost 300 million people in this country. A large percentage of them are ignorant and easily swayed by fear and hate. If the calm, rational people decide they are too busy working and raising families to be politically active, then the insane minority becomes and effective majority.
