Last week< a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-young/for-humanitarian-reasons_b_92699.html">I wrote of the sad sight of watching poor Jane Hall, Bill O'Reilly's weekly whipping girl in the "Weekdays With Bernie & Jane" segment on his Factor.

After watching the humiliating treatment heaped on her last night by the fair and balanced BillO, it seems she still doesn't realize how horrifying watching her tortured existence is. You get the idea that waterboarding is just around the corner.

Last night in discussing the difference between MSNBC and NBC news, Bill quickly knew that Jane wasn't going exactly where he wanted her to (condemn NBC et al, sending them to hell in a Keith Olbermann hand basket). With an embarrassing split screen and without even allowing her a word, BillO started railing into NBC AND Jane, scolding her for not condemning NBC for not being appalled. Besides the fact that Bill's argument made no sense - "(NBC is) doing it solely to make money," then, believe it or not, immediately followed that up saying what "a financial disaster" they are - the shame is the pathetic image of Hall having her face on camera while being browbeared by the Fox News President of the Womes Hater's Club.

At the end of his rip, Jane asked, "Can I say one thing?" to which Bill responded, "No, I gotta go." The look on her face was pitiable.

But to top off the above and beyond insult, instead of gotta going" BillO turned to Bernie (Goldberg) to give his take.

Questions arise.

How does Hall face her students the days after her Factor appearances?

What kind of a role model is this for the women students in her class at American University?

Is it an addiction she just can't quit?

Does she need the money that bad, providing an invaluable lesson of "pride don't pay the mortgage" for her students.

I don't know why she continues to allow herself to be berated by someone who obviously has so little respect for women - see: Makris vs O'Reilly, Bill's belief that "female cabals who terrorize men", sees no difference between Arianna Huffington and the Nazis, or just watch earlier in last night's show when he called guest Flavia Colgan "crazy" for defending what she believe was what America stands for.

I have no idea when Jane will say enough is enough, but for the sake of women everywhere, especially the cabal of females in her class, on some "Bernie and Jane" in the near future, she'll interrupt BillO's interruption, stand up, and borrowing the words from another earlier Network, she'll roar...

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!"

To punctuate the point, just before she walks off, Jane Hall will apply a well-placed foot to the Fox misogynist's groin. As Bill lays writing on the floor, she'll smile and say, "being a reporter in Argentina is not analogous to being in combat, no one believes you're on al-Qaeda's hit list and your Patriots and Pinheads is an obvious rip of Olbermann's 'Worst Person of the Day'... asshole!."

She then ducks back in and, with a winning smile, asks...

"What say you, Bill?"

Award-winning television writer and author of "Great Failures of the Extremely Successful," Steve Young' s "All The News That's Fit To Spoof" appears in L.A. Daily News opeds every Sunday on the same page with Bill O'Reilly's...really.

Bill O'reilly is an idiot. He wonders why people will not appear on his show. Most of the people that appear on his show agree with him. He will tell lyou that most people agree with him. He is a pure idiot. He is abusive to everyone, so when he is on the tube, I just turn the chanel. He doesn't deserve to have the attention of rational people. And when people don't agree with him, he calls himself trashing them, saying all kinds of things, as if they are true. No other word describes him better than idiot. He needs to be replaced.

The point is, Bill O'Reilly treats most women the same way -- disrespectfully, and that means he is a dimwit! I don't care who you are or what you have or how rich you are or whatever, DISRESPECT is DISRESPECT in all colors, shapes, and forms.

He overtalks all women. None of them seems to say exactly what he wants them to say. He is impatient and if he can't get what he wants from you, he SHUTS YOU UP quickly in no uncertain terms. He should be taken off the boob tube completely because he is a total disgrace to mankind. And to think of what he is teaching our BOYS. It's a "no wonder" kids are as rude as they are today thanks to people like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. These types of shows are why TV should be off limits to all kids.

Note to Jane: Forget the right or wrong, accurate or not accurate, part of what Bill says and Focus on the way he is treating you. In ole' Bill's mind, the belief he is Right justifies his insulting and juvenile behavior. Maybe he is right, maybe he is wrong, but he is abusive and a bully.

There is no Good Way of Dealing with a Bully. They are better at the Sport of Bullying than the average person and they have more Anger at their disposal---probably because of a lifetime of people rejecting and walking away from them---to fuel their Bullying than the average person.

Only one way to deal with them: Leave

That's the truth oncethere. I can't even imagine taking that crap from any man. Never been there. Never done that. He would be picking up his FAT LIP if he ever said anything like that to me no matter what the consequences would be. And I'm not a violent type of person.

Some times you just gotta do what you gotta do, Jane. Stop taking that abuse. Women should NEVER take abuse from a man -- NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. Walk away. You don't need those dollars. Make them somewhere else. Don't allow your students to see you being WEAK! PLEASE.

Which "Bill" are you talking about???

Oh wait.. O'reilly, right??? :D

Do you hate O'reilly because he is pro-GOP?? Or do you hate him because he is a jackass??

Just curious...

Pointing out O'Reilly's obvious jackass tendencies doesn't equate to hatred, doesn't matter what side of the political spectrum he's on. Bill-O is simply an obnoxious, arrogant, pin-headed, popinjay!

Good answer.. :D

Hating someone because of their political ideology is as moronic and bigoted as hating someone because of their color or culture..

Hating someone because they are a jackass is perfectly acceptable.. :D

Personally, I don't find O'Reilly all that offensive most of the time. There was one time when he really went off center, but that was understandable, considering the subject matter...

Funny how you see the misogyny at Fox via Bill O'Reilly, but you conveniently avoided mentioning that similar thing(s) happen at NBC et al. Such hypocrisy is what is causing the divide in not only this country, but more importantly in the democratic party. Be fair, do not only criticisize your "enemies" but also your "friends". When you find the COURAGE to call out NBC then maybe I'll respect your attempt to seem wholly impartial. The discomfort you felt at seeing Jane Hall humiliated by BillO, should also be felt when the boys on other networks do the same (however subtly) to Hillary Clinton. Nevemind, thats asking you to criticize your friends, not something you seem to be capable of doing.

His point, maggieb, is that Jane is allowing this man to verbally abuse her. Have you ever been verbally abused? If not, it is not nice and she needs to extricate herself from his surroundings is all he's saying.
