Most Race-Baiting Column EVER! O'Reilly Uses Nearly Entire Column To Conjure Up A Race War Over Obama

In one of the most incendiary columns ever written, "Race And The Presidential Election," Bill O'Reilly sets the race-bait bar to record-breaking...depths. Short of saying that Barack Obama wants to sleep with your pearly-white daughter, O'Reilly uses just about every button meant to alarm his white fans to the fact that Barack Obama is BLACK and that just his running for, let alone becoming, president, could set off race-laced fireworks.

While there's no question, as he did on his TV Factor Friday night, Bill will say it's not race-baiting if you're just reporting the facts (despite the brilliant Prof. Dr. Marc Lamont Hill's protestations), here are just a few comments from Bill's column...

"Obama seems to be in. Now comes the hard part--convincing Americans that he is the best choice for president without all hell breaking loose on the race front."

Since when does convincing Americans that a candidate is the best choice lead to "hell breaking loose," unless you want your reader to believe it can?

"Thanks partly to Reverend Wright's now immortal 'the USA of KKK' remark, the race factor has emerged big time in this election. If you don't believe me, just look at the vote in North Carolina and Indiana."

Reverend Wright, Reverend Wright, Reverend Wright. Remember, Bill's just reporting the facts, not reminding voters over and over that Obama was connected to someone who thinks you (white) Americans are haters.

"Also, as Al Sharpton told me, any kind of superdelegate shenanigans will lead to massive demonstrations at the Democratic Convention in Denver which, of course, would be disastrous for the party."

Hmm. Al Sharpton? Massive demonstrations? Disastrous? Nope. Move along, Folks. No fear-monger, race-baiting here.

"Obama's second dilemma is convincing skeptical white voters that he and his wife are sympathetic to their concerns. Let's be honest--few white Americans would tolerate a Reverend Wright for five minutes, much less 20 years."

While there's no mention that few whites would tolerate an anti-Christian, anti-gay, pro-McCain Reverend Hagee, convincing whites that a black man, who is married to a black woman, can have the same concerns as a white man or woman can? You have to admit. Bill's got us there. How could any white believe that blacks and white have anything in common? And, of course, just for some added brown sugar...Reverend Wright.

The best part of his commentary was when O'Reilly pretty much demeaned every newspaper who prints his column.

"A responsible newspaper would not have printed the lunacy. But in this hyper-partisan country, race-baiters will find a forum, and every time stuff like that gets exposure, racial animus comes back."

In actuality, in this case, he was referring to another race-baiter, but if the bait fits...

But in one genuine stab at self-realization, Bill does literally condemn his own actions.

"I do not expect Obama or Senator McCain to dwell on race, but, surely, some of their surrogates and the media will exploit the issue to the fullest. That, of course, will be bad for the country and bad for the candidates. But it's coming. No question."
And with Bill, it's already arrived.

If there is some racist nut out there who's looking for a reason to chamber up, let's hope he doesn't get Bill O'Reilly's column delivered to his cabin. As Paul Reiser once said, "I'm just sayin'"

Award-winning television writer and author of "Great Failures of the Extremely Successful," Steve Young' s "All The News That's Fit To Spoof" appears in L.A. Daily News opeds every Sunday on the same page with Bill O'Reilly's...really.

Every day Bill O'Reilly makes the most ignorant statement that I've ever heard, and I always say "surely he can't get any lower." Then, the very next day, he comes out and says something even more ignorant! His statements should come as no great surprise to anyone. As a rational person, I find it very hard (if not impossible) to take anything he says seriously. His rising popularity is directly linked with the amount of controversy he stirs up; it is certainly not based on his sound intellect or insightful worldviews.

How many ignorant statements does this man have to make before he starts to alienate his listeners?

Is this really something new? Thanks to Fox News, Bill OReilly gets to have his very own TV show instead of being the guy on the street corner ranting and raving, while passerbys carefully cross the street to avoid any contact with the irrational lunatic

Bill O has an inherent fear of soul food filled falafels.

From It's inception the United States of America has been a profoundly racist nation.

Just how much it remains so we are about to see. I fear it will get very ugly.

Hold on to your seats. We are about to take a terrible ride.

Bill O'Reilly should be ashamed of himself, especially being a Catholic and all. Its not nice to be a racist and Catholisism teaches against it. The thing is about O'Reilly, he is sort of like Madonna, he does and says whatever gets him attention. Who knows or cares what he thinks or if he thinks it?

One thing we have to face though, is that alot of white people who are Democrats ARE racists, or are afraid of changing the way things have always been - unfair to blacks. Sometimes I pick up while listening to white people (I am white) talk about race, that they might be carrying around some guilt about slavery and all, and become defensive because they don't know what or how to resolve the issue in their own minds and hearts. Change is scary and painful and humans seem to put it off as long as possible. I am not justifying this, I am just trying to look at the what motivates seemingly good people to act in such a bad way.

O'Reilly is an opportunist, and who knows or cares what motivates him. He is pathetic and sad from the standpoint of watching a truly sick individual crave attention in front of the entire world, no matter who else he hurts.

While I have nothing but contempt for O'Reilly he is right on this point. The fact of the matter is that the Republicans party includes a huge number of racist fanatics and Republican politician at all levels engage in race baiting. (Just think about the Bush campaign pushing the idea that McCain had a black baby.)

Only a fool would not expect the Republicans not to pursue race baiting in this contest. It is not a question of will they do it, the only question is, how will Obama respond when they do it. My advise it not to get to worked up about but rather to just point out race baiting when it happens and identify those individuals that are behind it. Shining the light on those that engage in dirty tricks is the only way to move past it.

Once again, with feeling (since so few of you seem to get it):

If you watch the MSM, if you read their bilge, if you subscribe to their papers, you are just as guilty of those viewpoints as if you'd spoken them yourself.

If you watch the '08 Genocide Olympics, then you are supporting that genocide.

What would happen if O'Lielly spoke his bilge--and no one listened?

Ah, choices.

Time to wake up, sheeple, and take responsibility.

I get your point, but I feel that you also have to monitor someone like BOR. He does have a following, and we have to be aware of what such a hate-filled man is doing. I don't advocate watching his program, necessarily. But some of us should be in a position to raise a flag of alert when he tries to incite the hatred in his audience to perhaps make them act out violently.
He would like nothing more than to see riots in America. He would like to see African Americans jailed and injured so that he could demonize them even more.
We all have to be able to see him for what he is, and prevent him from whipping his audience into a frenzy of hate and bigotry.

Did anyone understand O'Reilly's gratuitous attack on Gene Robinson of the Washington Post? I just about fell out of my chair when I heard his venomous tirade against this man! I turned to Kieth Olbermann for some relief.

Billo is a joke amongst his peers. He is so out of touch with reality and such a blowhard he isn't even considered as anything but a clown. I love when Keith Olbermann racks him over the coals every night. It's is the best program on television. No legiminate newsperson would work for Fox News for long. It could be the end to their career.

An important story within the North Carolina primary that is getting buried, is the North Carolina U.S. Senatorial race. In this competitive race an African American candidate Marcus W. Williams was defeated by a white woman candidate Kay R. Hagan. African Americans overwhelming voted for Hagan over Williams, at the same time they voted for Obama. This clearly suggest that African Americans do not merely vote on the basis of race otherwise Williams would have faired much better. Indeed, black and white North Carolinas recognized that Hagan"s stand on the issues were far better than Williams. They saw race and beyond it.

The collusion of the professional and corporate media makes the whole sordid affair even more tragic. You are right, the story you report has been buried because it would be a powerful argument against the bile that supposedly intellignet people are trying to pass off as the truth. CNN, from most trusted to they tick me off with their obvious bias it makes me disgusted. Why has this story not appeared yet the other aspect of the story which was the massive turn out of brown voters for Barack Obama has received prominence in reporting and implication that brown people are turning out for Barack Obama because he is brown, instead of brown people are turning out for Mr. Obama based on the issues and the credibility of the candidate to get things done?

Is it a problem for you when white people vote for a white candidate?

"no."?

...thought so.

"In terms of percentages, Hagan had 60.14% of the vote while [Jim] Neal only received 17.98%. Other candidates in the race received a smaller number of votes with Marcus Williams receiving 12.73%, Duskin Lassiter getting 4.65%, and Howard Staley with 4.51%. " -- The Raleigh Chronicle.

To insert Rev. Wright into the mix is to say no members of his church can ever hope to run for president of the US. Even after Obama have become the inspirational contradiction to this proclaim.

How can a few misrepresentation of one man alienate the whole congregation. It's like saying nothing good can come from this church.

Politics can be so misguided. 8000 members know, to include their affiliation to the Trinity Church will make success more difficult.

That seem so unfair to limit the potential of so many.

No one has never done an in depth report on the good the church have done. Not one report.
There"s got to be more to the church than Rev. Wright.

I was sitting in a bar recently when this rich, young and very drunk republican started talking politics with me. After just a few short comments he noticed I was a "liberal" and asked who I was going to vote for, the c*nt or the c*on. republican rasism and swxism is alive and well in America, it's a crying shame.

You're so right, Wally47. I am taking a fiendish pleasure in watching white Republicans who hate McCain and can't vote for either c*nt or c*on without soiling their panties. We will get the President we deserve in November. Whatever happens, I'm good. I don't have children to suffer; I'm old enough that thankfully, I won't see much more of this nonsense. And as a Black, all of the damage done by white people to me has been done already.

But the comeuppance is still due and that is what the chickens coming home roost statement is all about! The racist and hate-filled fools are so demented that they think they can deny a crime with the blood spatter all over them, the weapon still in their hand, and eyewitnesses to the crime. There is a greater justice than mere mortals are capable of delivering and Karma is a mighty storm for a guilty fool. So Brenda you have the appropriate attitude concerning madness --just accept that it exists, and try to stay clear of it because it is in the crosshairs of eventual devastation. Vengeance is mine sayeth the lord! The sins of the guilty father may be visited upon the innocent child if not the guilty father. Those who think they are getting off scot-free with bad behavior may find that suffering has a way of skipping generations. Who wants their children to suffer except the selfish who would hate today such that there is a greater chance that hate will exist tomorrow to plague the future.

America is the land of the brave not by action but by decree and home of the slave mentality that is prejudice of any sort! Why would anybody reasonable and honest be proud of that?

O vacuous spacious lies
For profit and gain
For evil hearts
May there be nothing but misery and pain
