O'Reilly Already Paid Homage To Russert: "Don't Give Me (Russert's) a Noble Guy. He's Not."

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

When Bill O'Reilly takes the mic this week, he will more than likely pay homage to Tim Russert. As he spews his faux sincerity, let's not forget how he daily demonized the very network where Russert served as senior vice president and its Washington bureau chief. When he goes heartfelt sincere he'll attempt to separate Russert from NBC, something Russert would not have done.

But as Bill has said before, Russert cannot be differentiated from NBC. No need to listen or watch Bill today. One need go no further than this journalistic gem below from last month to discover what Bill really thinks of Russert and his credibility.

Amongst some of the best praise from Bill towards Tim...

"He went into the tank for Obama."

"Don't give me any of this Russert's a blessed guy."

"Russert's playing the (left-wing) game over (at NBC), taking his big pay check, so don't give me he's a noble guy. He's not."

"If you're working for NBC, you're part of (their dishonesty)."

The tape below should remain forever as the public's reality check on any homage Bill attempts to pay.

Award-winning, TV writer, Steve Young, is the author of "Great Failures of the Extremely Successful" (www.greatfailure.com) and his weekly column truly does end up every Sunday in the same LA Daily News OPEDs as Bill's.

You are posting the lowest kind of criticism there is. Taking single comments and some of those, incomplete comments, out of context and OUT dated and lining them up as if they were spoken or written since Tim Russert's death. Do you truly believe your minions will believe these remarks and go on a full out attack against Bill O'Reilly? (You certainly don't give your fans much credit for intelligence.)

O'Reilly has opinions, yes, but he, like the late Tim Russert, is a devoted Catholic and I serious doubt he would speak ill of the dead, but in fact would look for the values of the man. This is, after all, the business he and Tim Russert were in.

Wonder if you're reject his comment as well?

BillO is a despicable ranter in many ways and this clip illustrates to what extent his mental health has gone AWOL.

However, this doesn't mean he's inhuman and will be oblivious to the hardship Tim Russert's familly currently goes through.

O'Reily is a sorry excuse for a human being. His real beef with NBC/MSNBC is Keith Obermann, but he's not man enough or smart enough to go after Keith directly, so he goes after the whole network. His show has no subtance because that would require him to do some homework. They just light up this gas bag and let him blow for an hour each night.

I think you are confusing professional criticism and competition with antipathy. The reason that Bill distinguishes Russert in the examples you cite is because of the respect Bill has for him. And Russert really stands out from the rest of the cheer squad over at MSNBC!

Vitriolic disapproval from O'Reilly is the highest endorsement any journalist could hope for.

FBC is a bullshit factory.

When a liar and pervert hates you -

BE PROUD OF YOURSELF.

It means you are a good American.

Bill O is a miscreant, and his fans like him because they are identical to him. They are equally mean, sick and dishonest people.

Because Bill O'reilly doesn't agree with the way NBC presents the news and political campains, has nothing to do with him not feeling remorse for tims death..don't make a a stupid ponit out of someones death..pretty low.

O'Reilly will take the "let bygones be bygones" high road, and spew the same saccharine glurge that's been dripping all weekend from the teevee like honey from a honeycomb.

I realize that the point of this piece is just to smack BOR for his impending hypocrisy and duplicity, but thanks for NOT being "maudlin"; it's a refreshing change from the sticky tsunami of pious posthumous adulation the corporate media drowns us in after every celebrity death.

If you're into an analysis & criticism of Tim Russert check out the response of WSWS, a Marxist, Trotskyist site, to Mr Russert's sudden death & his place in the MSM's history.
Maybe Bill O'Really will choose to go the route HP's Jason Linkins went on Tim Russert's death. Jason acted like a gentleman by simply saying that he had criticized Tim Russert & Jason left it at that without cataloging his criticisms of Tim Russert.
To be maudlin, you could have waited till after Tim Russert's funeral to present a catalog of Bile O'Really's criticim of Tim Russert.
