The National Republican Senatorial Committee put out a kitchen-sink type ad in Minnesota Monday, accusing someone of writing pornography, laughing at the disabled, humiliating minorities and demeaning women.
And I thought Republicans liked Bill O'Reilly.
But I kid the NRSC.
Okay. The NRSC was taking a shot at Al Franken, and in his Minnesota Senatorial battle with Norm Coleman where Coleman felt necessary to call in the Marines. Um...Maroons...from Hollywood - aren't they all out there? - to explain why Al Franken is a terrible person.
John Ratzenberger, Robert Davi, Pat Boone and Victoria Jackson. No denying we're talking A-list Hollywood, but their standing in show biz should not be in question. They have just as much a right to speak as they do to perform their paid gigs. But when I hear those who say that "you are not your job" I'm guessing that more than most people, those in show biz (actors/comedians/singers) understand that when they do their job, they are most likely performing as someone they are not.
It's their job, not who they are.
Does John Ratzenberger believe that most mailmen are blithering idiots who live READ THE REAST OF THE ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF AL FRANKEN'S CHARACTERS

The Republican clowns have been in charge for long enough. If I have to be ruled by clowns, I want a Democratic clown in office for a change.
why am I confused
Norm Colemans record is what they are voting against, Al Franken has never been a US senator but Norm Coleman has and we have all seen what he has done with the last six years. People from Minnesota know what a good senator looks like and sounds like and we will see who they choose. As far as the "business of Govt" is concerned, maybe a candidate who thinks there is to much "business" going on in Govt and not enough governing would be a better pick to try to help a state like Minnesota who like other midwestren states will take the brunt of this recession.
For the first time in my life I wish I lived in Minnesota. Just so I could vote for Al Franken
I actually gave that a couple of moment's thought...
Remember the old joke about the dying actor? Someone trying to comfort him says, "Dying is hard." to which he replies,"No, dying is easy. Comedy is hard."
It always seemed to me that the smartest people in show biz are comics and comedy writers. To be funny you need to see the essential truth and particularly the subtle contradictions in that truth. Franken seems to be able to cut to the chase. Add to that he seems to get along with people he disagrees with and can make them laugh as he explains why they are wrong and It seems you have the makings of a very effective senator.
Oh yeah, I like the idea of a senator who isn't afraid to call Rush Limbaugh a big fat idiot. Truth in politics. What a great idea.
If the fine folks of Minnesota want a bag of hot wind like Al Franken to make a fool out of himself on their behalf, I say by all means, let them have him.
Al will quickly find that the business of government requires a little more thought than he has demonstrated, and who knows, he just might rise to the task, but I'm not holding my breath.
Oh please do.
Hold your breath that is.
So, let me get this straight.
Perfectly Legal Character Assassination of a Democrat Political Candidate like Franken.....
BAD
Totally Illegal Character Assassination of an American citizen who just happens to be a McCain Supporter..
GOOD
OK, thanx for clearing that up...
Michale.....
I musta missed that one.
Enlighten me please.
What fine upstanding citizen has had their character assasinated, and by whom?
Joe The Plumber.. By practically every Democrat in the country..
While he may not be a "fine upstanding citizen" in YOUR opinion, he IS an American citizen who happens to be a McCain supporter..
Which is all that I claimed..
Michale....
