A wonderful thing happened 110 years ago today...

...on July 12, 1895 R. Buckminster Fuller arrived on board Spaceship Earth.

Here's a quote from Bucky provided by my friend (and fellow student of Bucky's work) Terry Glassman.

My friends, we do actually have the option of making it...all of us! But in order to do so we're going to have to stop assassinating each other (both physically AND intellectually).

The secret to turning this option...of everyone on Earth making it...into a real probability? Personal integrity. (In other words, no more lying...especially for political gain...but also in many other areas of life.)

And the key to starting on this journey to a life of personal integrity? Realizing that almost everything we've been taught has been taught to us by people who grew up in a socio-political-economic system based on the fundamental assumption that there isn't enough for everyone...the fundamental assumption that there will always be "winners and losers" here on Earth (which of course means that the way to live is to make sure that (a) you survive and (b) that those who are your friends...who think like you...survive). And to Hell with everyone else!

Which means that throughout our lives we have learned behavioral and thinking habits designed to continue the existence of this "you or me" world.

Which means we've got a lot of learning to do...AND a lot of UNLEARNING as well.
