Stuart Comstock-Gay is Director of the Democracy Program at Demos. He came to Demos through the affiliation with the National Voting Rights Institute, where he served as Executive Director from January 2004 to December 2006. Prior to joining NVRI, he served as the Vice-President & C.O.O., and Vice President for Programs, of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in Concord, NH.

Before joining NHCF, Stuart served as the Executive Director of the Maryland ACLU in Baltimore. He has spoken and written widely on topics related to democracy, foundation practices and civil liberties. He received his MPA from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and a BA in Political Science from Bucknell University.
