D'accord! They all look terrific!

They certainly do dress like this but you see this only during fashion week and you have to be in the right area ie where there are shows.

They don't dress like this is Paris, for sure. Way too colorful. Parisians dress is mostly neutral colors, classics, blacks, grays, etc. This is def. a photoshoot, even in le Marais it's not this vibrant! Also you will never see women wearing crazy heels like those--usually black shoes, booties, oxford style; it's about practicality and style.

I go to Paris every year, and I can tell you, I don't see this. Parisian women dress classically, and they downplay. They accessorize beautifully and are understated in their elegance. These photos must be from a photo shoot, especially the balloons. Come on!

I thought so. Those photos look like it might have been an event, not the streets of Paris with real Parisian women.

"straight off the runway at Dior"

These are mainly pictures of models from the designer runway shows. Look at the women in the background. They look like Americans (some might actually be American, but they can't all be). European women do seem to dress a little differently, but that doesn't always mean they look any better. Really, what man would like to see your feet in those multicolored, multi-strapped, heavy sandals (all the men I know think these clunker shoes are UGLY).

French women can dress stylishly, so can New Yorkers, so can Californians for that matter (or anywhere else). What is "stylish" is what is works where you are.

I am really tired of this stereotype that Parisians have more fashion sense than Americans. As someone who used to live in Paris, It Just Isn't True. We have far more people willing to experiment here in New York - to my eyes - than I ever witnessed on the streets in Paris. These photos are NOT representative of how Parisian women dress, which, overall, is very uniform. Pick up a 3 Suisses catalog and head out to Rue de Rockette and tell me if you can see the difference. I couldn't.

The school-girl clothing ensembles are the female equivalent of the popular giant toddler look worn by clueless men well past "should know better" (baggy skirt-like jeans with Garanimal type matched shirt and hat). If this group is representative of Paris style it appears they've bottomed out and started copying NYC fad followers.

to me there's a big diff. between 'fashion' and 'style'. anyone can wear the latest fashion, fad or trend, but it takes yrs. to find your own style, one that defines you, one you feel comfortable in. over the yrs. i have known two women who had a fantastic since of style. one worked for ralph, and had an ability to take some of his stuff, some nifty vintage finds, throw in some inexpensive pieces and wa-la, great looks. the other woman i dated, and she was much more edgy. the fact that she was half irish and half puerto rican and would turn heads when she walked into a room, only enhanced her look.

Parisian women don't even come close to our levi's and penny loafers look. I didn't like any of these looks pictured. We as American women have a casual style that can't be beat........

couldn't tell it if you're near a Wallmart or any Mall in America. It's comfy wear, and usually ill fitting. The bigger cities fare much better.

Parisian woman may dress better than American woman, I guess that would be subjective; what's stylish to me may be a rag to you. I stand by my opinion that while they may be "just as stylish" as Americans, American women are more beautiful!! I was stationed in europe twice, I was single while I served so I did a lot of traveling, our caucasion women are more beautiful, are much more health conscience, and they're not hairy like a wildebeast like French and German woman. Let's mention the women of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, these are women of color, they are smok'in hot. European women "ain't got nothing on us"

I live in France, am American, and completely disagree with your statements. More health conscious? Please. Also, the "hairy" stereotype is so old.

I haven't been to Paris in over 40 years, but I still remember how wonderfully and stylishly the women dressed.
It is hard to explain, but, the Parisian women were daring, but they got away with it. If American women tried to get away with the same thing, their self-consciousness would ruin the effort. Still, I would love to see American women even try to be as stylish as Parisians.

we can't wear what they wear. they're all skinny-fat twiggy gals, and americans in general are heavier.

These were probably taken during Fashion week in Paris a few weeks ago
