An Open Letter to Obama's Speech Writer

It seems as if every day, regardless of what's going on in the world, Obama (or "this president" as he is commonly called) is charged with pretty much the same things. So I will simplify the job.

It seems as if every day, regardless of what's going on in the world, Obama (or "this president" as he is commonly called) is charged with pretty much the same things, so if I were you, I would simplify my job by having an outline prepared and filling in the blanks. The script I recommend:

Good _______________, everybody.

This week I spent time talking with ________________________ about.

One of them was _________________________________, who'd written to tell me how hard it is for ___________________________________________.

She shared something I know many of you feel when you wonder what's going on in Washington. She said, _______________________.

I am horrified by ____________________ and strongly condemn _______________________________________.

My sympathy and condolences to _____________________________.

I've laid out an agenda to _____________________________________________. But so far

Congress has refused to _______________________________________________.

This should not be a partisan issue. Everybody in America cares about__________________________________________.

In fact, it was a Republican, ________________________________, who ________________________________________.

While we have accomplished _______________________, we still need to do a better job. There are things we should be doing to __________________________________.

I'm always willing to compromise. But so far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked every serious idea to ________________________________________.

That's why I'm taking actions on my own to ______________________________________.

The Republican plan now is not to do some of this work with me - instead, it's to _______________________________________. It's a political stunt that's going to waste months of America's time. The American people have to demand that folks in Washington do their job. If we work together, we can _________________________________.

Let's keep the pressure on them to ______________________________________________.

I ran for office to fight for hardworking Americans like ___________________________. That's something I'll never forget - it's something I'll never stop fighting for. Thanks, and have a great week

Thank you.

God bless you. God bless America.
