A diverse coalition of religious leaders are calling on Americans to join them in fasting and prayer to protest budget cuts that would jeopardize the poor and hungry at home and abroad.
I believe strongly in the need to balance the budget, but there has to be a better way. If Congress makes these cuts, people at risk of hunger in the U.S. will feel the impact immediately.
