I believe the American Dream of prosperity is not lost, yet it's been shrouded in "rugged individualism" gone awry. Prosperity is not found in every man or woman for themselves, fighting over the sales items at Ross.
We have known for over a decade that this day would come. America has shorted creativity and now our innovation and competitiveness have fallen off the pace. Where are our children supposed to learn how to be competently creative, not just expressive?
It is a constant theme among Republicans, who criticize President Obama for tearing down national greatness and pride. Yet beyond hope and rhetoric there are some undeniable facts that counter our embrace of the American dream.
