Bottom line is that only three people involved in the entertainment industry were charged in this case--despite the fact that almost all of Mr. Pellicano's clients were related to the entertainment business.
Braun also went after the government's witness, Tarita Virute. As you probably don't recall at this point, Ms. Virtue was a one-woman Pellicano-bashing machine when she took the stand for the government.
The Judge, who seemed ready to pluck out her own eyeballs at the stupidity of the government not turning over this evidence and who has been reading motions on this case around the clock, also wasn't happy with Mr. Hummel.
As riveting as Michael Ovitz's testimony was last week, there was quite a bit missing. Reviewing the F.B.I.'s notes from its interviews with Mr. Ovitz, it's clear the former super agent said a lot to the F.B.I. the jury never got to hear.
