We will never have equal numbers of women in Congress, we will never have equal numbers of female CEO's, and we will never have equal numbers of women leading campaigns if we keep allowing men like Mr. Weiner to make our work places unfriendly for women.
Sanford is back in office, Clinton is a respected elder statesman, and both Weiner and Spitzer have pulled a Stella and gotten their New York groove back. Has the "permanently ruinous political sex scandal" gone the way of the dodo bird?
Anthony Weiner's lack of discipline is a striking and risky metaphor for the undisciplined, licentious, out-of-control New York City that persisted in the public consciousness through its near-bankruptcy, and the crime-drenched, dysfunctional decades of the '60s and '70s.
Although he read from a prepared statement, he managed to sound guarded, defensive, and at times, borderline indignant. Instead of coming off as transparent, Weiner came off sounding like a transparent liar.
