I agree that it is crucial to attend to the psychological and emotional meaning of all experiences and understand the social context in which they occur. But I do worry that the report creates its own set of unintended problems and may inadvertently perpetuate rather than dispel confusion and stigma, especially for those who have the most severely impairing of psychotic experiences.

My clinical and research experience and reading of the literature convince me that medication is essential for most people with severe and chronic symptoms. It is equally clear that medication is way overused in many people who don't need it. The controversial question of coercive treatment also has to be understood in context.
