What we're seeing here is theoretically major. Chicago art holds its own against art of globally acknowledged stature. Is this the opening salvo in the War to End Cookie-Cutter Museums?

Chicago galleries are doing an insufficient job of responding to the needs of the community. The art world is evolving, becoming broader, more democratic, more internet savvy, and the existing and arcane support structure remains old school.
