Nothing can mitigate the profound sadness of the deaths of dozens of people. But the families of all the victims would be right in wishing that there had been a few more miracles to go around.
Even as more people appear to be turning away from organized religion, a new study finds that the number of Americans who definitely believe in religious miracles increased 22 percent in the past two decades.
It is not just people in the first century who have believed in miracles. Various polls peg U.S. belief in miracles at roughly 80 percent. Even more striking is the number who claim to have witnessed or experienced them.
