I'm not going to predict or select or analyze this year's winners. Leave that for the "critics" and "pundits." This year, I'm picking the All-Time Oscars. Today, I'll offer a set of nominees for Best Supporting Actor (of all time!).
Zero Dark Thirty was nominated for Best Picture. Mark Boal, the screenwriter, was nominated for Best Original Screenplay. Jessica Chastain was nominated for Best Actress, so it seems the only individual successfully swiftboated this year was director Kathryn Bigelow.
Here's a look at some of this year's Emmy hopefuls -- along with a few actresses we wish had been nominated (Kyra Sedgwick? Hello? She's our female Columbo!). I'm sure you'll agree that, the envelope notwithstanding, all of the nominees have already proven themselves winners. Enjoy!
It's high time moms stop hiding behind the #humblebrags and just step up and let the world know that they're damn proud of themselves. I'd much rather cheer you on than roll my eyes. What are you not sorry to #mombrag about?
What is fresh about this year's movies is the range of choices the actresses had. I was struck by the fact that this year's crop of women have moved into areas previously inhabited by male actors -- and, wow, were they good.
