Kanye West has opened my eyes and there is no going back. The two experiences are exactly, exactly the same. In Hollywood you have gifting sweets, million dollar deals, access, social capital, hedonism, wealth and more -- AKA the same thing Blacks dealt with in the '60s. Agreed, Mr. West! Agreed!

If SNL isn't finding great black female talent, maybe it's because the characters we want to play don't fall in line with the caricatures they're used to seeing. Maybe it's SNL that isn't ready -- to be progressive, break tradition and have a writing team that isn't 95 percent white for once.
Key & Peele, a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central, is peddling offensive comedy. Apparently, when Key and Peele say their comedy is universal what they really mean is that blacks will be the butt of the jokes and others will be the ones universally yucking it up.
