I love St. Patrick's Day. It's so inclusive. By that I mean that though it's a bona fide religious holiday, you don't need to be particularly pious to enjoy it. Wishing everyone a safe and (reasonably) responsible holiday, I present my own candidates for the top drinking movies of all time.
I figured women have been literally and metaphorically watching men grab their crotches on screen since the beginning of the talkies, so it was about time to watch women metaphorically and literally do it too. Tit for tat, so to speak.
At some point in the last half-century or so, a wedding has become an epic series of interrelated events that bear some relation to the fact that two people will eventually get married in the presence of their friends and families.
I continue to be nostalgic for comedy that doesn't require constant profanity or a surfeit of fart gags to succeed, that relies instead on subtle, clever scripts and witty dialogue; movies that in the end give their audiences some credit for brains and taste.
