There is a limit, no matter how judicious a film's construction, to audience comprehension. In the case of Casino Jack and the United States of Money, Gibney entertains as well as enlightens.

I didn't walk out of Lovers of Hate but people around me did and the urge for flight was strong. Thankfully, this turgid comedy eventually developed a modicum of suspense.
