I've been thinking about the power of a random comment on a blog post to engender what resulted in an exercise in public theology. It started with a comment I made on the controversy around Melissa Harris-Perry's recent "Lean Forward" ad.

People concerned about falling birth rates could more constructively spend their energy loving the neighbors they already have.

I assume that there are thousands of women like me out there. Women who woke up one day and found themselves in the middle of their worst nightmare. And who decided not to sit inside that nightmare. Women who are moving wearily but boldly back toward the light.
