There is no indication however, that this imagery may justify the use of violence or coercion in the name of the Gospel. We are called, as Paul writes to Timothy, to fight the good fight of faith.

As a Christian, my default posture is to oppose war. It must be proven to me that this is that one-in-a-thousand conflict that necessarily requires resort to arms. It is obvious that today's Afghanistan does not qualify.
